I use the Grocott and Vlok practice over in the dental district on the Wolverhampton road just as you come off the ring road. Been going there for years and never had any problems.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
p.s. please don't ask me to name the surgery.

I can't see the point of your post if you aren't going to name the dentist. How are people supposed to avoid or defend the practice if they don't know who they are?

Do the right thing and at least tell trading standards you will be doing a public service.

innit.. i completely understand your hesitance zeb, especially if you are intending to go back there, but it's frustrating being told somewhere is so bad but then not even being given a hint as to where it is in order to avoid it!

me & the missus go to oasis on wolverhampton road and have always been happy enough.. the only thing i don't like about it is it seems to be a "training practice", which means the dentists are constantly changing and we rarely see the same person twice.. obviously, the upside of this is that you get a second opinion every time you go :)

i went there my whole life, until it stopped being NHS.. couldn't complain at all - lovely practice, and lovely chap (grocott, that is - never saw anyone else).. my ol' dears & eldest sister still go there, and always sing his praises..

I see Mr Vlok, and despite his name sounding like he may have Vampirish tendencies, he is a wonderful dentist. I would like to make it clear that Mr Vlok is not from Transylvania and I have seen him stand in daylight without burning. He has never mentioned an aversion to garlic or attempted to solicit any blood.
My doctor is a different story. Dr Jekyll, real live wire. Hairy hands too.

I see Mr. Simpson at the Dental surgery just behind the cinema next to that dodgy patch of grass which is often frequented by Special Brew drinkers - this is the only way I can describe where I mean as I have no idea what the street is called!
Anyway can highly recommend Mr. simpson but they aren't taking on new patients.

I can totally recommend Richard Howarth at Smile Style, not cheap but truly pain free and he help take away the terror of dentists that i have had for too many years (school dentist, knee on the chest, say no more).

I've used what are now called Pure Dental Solution on the Eccleshall Road - formerly Castlefields Dental Practice since I was a nipper. Amazingly friendly staff - never had any problems with them - the dentist himself David Gardiner is lovely too - he's never inflicted any pain on me which also helps!

Worried about getting done for slander, innit? I thought for the sake of another £17 at least if people knew one dentist wasn't the be-all-end-all god of teeth they might fork out one more time just to be sure, espesh if what they get off a dentist is surprising news.

Well zebidee you have told us its on the NHS which makes me think its one of the NHS dentists. Funnily enough I know a couple of people who need an enormous amount of work doing that go to an NHS dentist in Stafford....

What really surprises me is how many people I know that complain about poor dentistry, but when I recommend an excellent dentist (I know quite a few people who work in that area) they don't go and continue to see the NHS dentist as it saves them a few quid. This also means that their children are going to a dentist they are not happy with as well (under 16's being free anyway). For the sake of a few quid I just don't see that its worth it. I should say I am talking about people I know that can afford to see a private dentist, but choose not to.

You won't get done for slander (libel, actually) for expressing an opinion about your personal experience. In any case, unless you're registered with your dentist as "zebidee" I cannot see how they are going to identify you.

I use the NHS dentist in Gnosall, after years of Browning street surgery and Marston Road chemist and St Marys Dentist it's brilliant to have everything in one place where you CAN actually park without having to sit and wait for a space for 25 mins/ faff about looking for non existant change for parking/ risk the wrath of the yellow ticket men - it was taking my new born baby to Browning Street surgery health visitor in the middle of winter and never being able to park there that prompted my decision - the dentist being there was a bonus and I tranfered to that as well. I've never had anything done there (still filling free!) but they've always been friendly and on time.

I love the staff at the Gnosall Drs. Nice friendly staff. Have go there sometimes for my evening job. There's 1 that's a bit crazy, but she's on my FB so won't say too much.
