Really wasn't expecting that, something felt wrong but no idea that was coming. Just watched the first episode of season 5 too, just to make sure! Episode 2 is out as well, since I'm laid up in bed with plague I think I'll watch that too.

Lucky you're not in Wales.

NHS Direct Wales said:
Your blood vessels (arteries) can become narrowed or hardened by a build up of fat, cholesterol and other substances. This causes a build up of plague (fatty deposits) in your arteries.

When plague breaks up a blood clot will form, so blood flow to your heart is restricted.

TBH series 4 is almost as good as series 1 and 2, I thought 3 lost its way a bit but its def back on track.
agree on all points! season 3 was abysmal (see my earlier posts), but i said exactly the same thing to the missus about enjoying this season as much as 1 & 2 - possibly even more!

innit! i couldn't believe the ending!! won't spoil it for anyone here, as i believe there are still a few episodes left on the current airing on FX.. really brilliant ending, for so many reasons..

First 2 episodes of season 5 are out if you want them....

EDIT: I have friends at several places in series 4, and my bro who has watched the same as me. It seems there is always someone present when we try to talk about it though, making it very difficult!

Thanks for that. Will keep an eye out for them.

I had watched season 4 before my husband, and it was really really hard not to tell him what happened.

Am keeping Fringe and Criminal Minds until we can both watch them.

yeah i know, but i think i'm gonna wait 'til the whole season is finished then watch them back to back like i did with season 4! don't know if i could stand the suspense of having to wait a week twixt episodes lol..

We don't tend to watch a lot of actual live tv. Most of ours in virgin+'d so catching the ads is difficult especially as we like to fast forward through them!

Will have to have a google to see when Bones and Lie To Me are back on if Sky aren't promoting them enough.

I’ve enjoyed Dexter’s fourth season hugely (although considering I’m the bloke who apparently failed to notice season three’s deficiencies, my opinion probably doesn’t count for much :P ). John Lithgow in particular has been superb.

However, as the finale approaches (I’m watching it on the FX channel, so the final episode is now two days away), I’m unfortunately in a position where I already know how the season ends and have known for weeks. I didn’t mean to find out and learned about it by accident via the internet.

Nowadays US imports are usually on UK TV within days of being shown in the States (Walking Dead, set to replace Dexter in FX’s schedule, makes its debut on the 31st of October in the US and then starts here on the 5th of November), but with Dexter it seems we’re about a year behind. Avoiding spoilers for a week or so isn’t hard, but avoiding them for a year? Difficult, especially when you visit the kinds of websites I like to look at.

But I doubt we’re going to be synching up with the US on Dexter. I mean, what would they do - show two seasons back-to-back? I can’t see it happening. Therefore, in order to avoid further spoilage, I’m thinking about trying to view episodes of season five, as soon as we’ve got season four’s conclusion out of the way. However, I’ve never attempted anything like this before (I’ve downloaded programmes via the BBC iPlayer, but that’s about the extent of my past experience!).

Clearly some of you forumites know what you’re doing, and I’d appreciate some advice. Where do you download episodes from? And how do you make sure you’re not infecting your system with viruses? And what about the legality of it - is there a danger of getting busted?! :q: :?: :q:

As is probably very clear, I’m clueless about this, so any advice would be appreciated…

Admin edit: Please see this thread for the answer to the above and keep this thread for discussion of "Dexter". :)

Dexter for me is the way television should be made, I've always been a fan of the Americans 26 episode seasons over the British 6 episodes, but you always ended up with a few filler shows and the odd 'clips show' 13 episode seasons seems to be just right.

That is all.
indeed.. i'm only up to episode 4 (as in, the next one to watch is 5) but already it's shaping up to be a good 'un!

my sister wants to watch it with us, so the gf and i are having to restrict ourselves to only watching it once at fortnight, when we can all get together, drink lots, have a filthy takeaway, and watch 2 episodes back to back!

not enjoying it quite as much as the awesome 5th season, but loving it all the same.. just found out it has already been renewed for a 7th and 8th season, so i hope they don't run it into the ground, à la CSI et al..

Just wait :D

Still can't compare to season 5 (could anything? Lithgow was amazing) but there is definately still legs in this one. Like you say though, hope they don't run it into the ground.

we've only got one more episode to watch! i know it sounds daft - "why didn't you just watch it??" i hear you cry/think - but it was NYE, we'd already watched 5 episodes b2b, and we had to admit defeat and just couldn't make it through another..

none of us were expecting the [insert analogous film that i don't want to mention & risk spoiling it for others but i'm sure you know which one i mean] twist! can't wait to see that last one..

[from this post]

I rather liked the books of Dexter, be interesting to see how the TV series goes now the end of the last series kinda ties in with the end of the first book.

yeah - i've been saying for a while now..
deb's bound to find out
...so now it's happened, it'll be interesting to see where they go with it!

i thought the last series took elements from the third book as well, what with the supernatural/religious element an' all.. thank god they did away with the whole...
losing his mojo/"dark passenger" thing.. dexter without a dark passenger is like steven seagal without badass moves - just a regular bloke, who's a bit shit and useless..
