I will probably get a solicitors letter off to them as well then that means that will have to go court looking at the threads from the other guys that probably won't happen

Hi All, not been on here for a long while, but sorry to see that this bunch of criminals are still at large.
I have contacted Watch Dog a couple of times with no response, not even an acknowledgement, but i guess they are busy people! But lets not stop trying.
But, this morning I have received a letter from Atlas, apologising for the customer service shortfall and acknowledging that we have not received the best customer service!
Now if ever there was an understatement, that is it.
However, they have offered to credit my account with the BT termination fees and that I should contact them. Also they have offered to pay £245 in overcharges and compensation.
This has taken 18 months to achieve and we have not been a customer of theirs for 15 months.
They have suggested we contact them in writing to cancel our contract without penalty!
Needless to say I will not contact them. I will speak to the Ombudsman again. They made a ruling over a year ago telling them what they should pay.
At least I now have in writing an admission of fault.
I may write to them and insist they send a cheque or bank transfer.
The money I have written off already, I would prefer to see them hang!
Incidentally, I just stopped paying them and transferred to another company (Talk Talk) and just informed Talk Talk of the situation. We had no issues except that Atlas continued billing us for 3 moths, which I just ignored.
Best of luck all.

Generally I got paid on time as much as can be expected anyway whether my pay was correct or not is another matter altogether...which leads to my reason for leaving over several weeks my wage was anything from £25-£100 short in fact over the space of 6 or 7 weeks it worked out I had been underpaid by just over £300 which has never materialised oh and I never got my week in hand when I left either and neither have the other people I know that have left or been sacked.

In reading your comment inumber regards to you being miss paid by the company, I'm just curious as to if you were messed about with your wage? I've recently just left after I found this forum, which when working their a new starter had a "pass" as they like to call them, which when said that they were previously on atlas, they got really defensive and said that it couldn't be done, which then I found this forum and reading the comments in regards to what's happened is appalling, but getting back to the wage, I was told in my interview that I would receive a £200 basic up till Christmas, I started mid first week of December and they closed on the 18th December, but then to find out half way through working there i was on coms only which is £40 per deal made, to which in the end I came out with £80, I went back beginningof January under the impression I was going onto a basic, bare in mind I was told this by a bloke called James who does all John's work in regards to the staff, who was intoxicated and under the influence at the staff do that myself and my partner would both be on a basic once we went back in January, to which I found out I was on coms only, so with working a week in hand and then receiving nothing on my first pay day was appalling, I was off a week and a half due to ill health, receiving a phone call off James saying he had spoken to John and to be put on a basic but then to be told again after I come back from not working I was on coms only, so I'm just curious if you had an issue with wages being changed to see fit

Did you sign a contract? I thought an employer had to pay you minimum wage, didn't think commission only was legal?

When I had my interview he said I would be on a £200 a week basic until after Christmas cause I joined at a bad time really, started beginning of December and they shut for Christmas on the 18th so I only had a couple of weeks really; when it came to handing my commission sheet in as I only worked 3 days when I started cause they started me on the Wednesday, then the following week when I was filling my sheet in I was under the impression I was still on a basic, turns out they out they put me on commission only, which if I remember I only made one deal so that was £40 for the week, the following week I made 2 deals so came away with £80.

As it's a self employed position we don't get sick pay or anything like that, what we earn is what we earn. I was off for all of last week due to ill health, the week before on Wednesday my "boss" so to speak rang me and said that under my circumstances (a lot personal) he spoke with the MD who is John Plum, which I've read previously he isn't legally allowed to be a MD for 8 years, said that I was to be put on a basic of £200, same as my partner cause he worked with me there as well, and then obviouslymy health comes first, I was off, went back on the 18th January, worked all day, got to the end of the day and James took me in the office and said that I was being put back on coms only, previous to that when it was our first week back the office rules changed, which everyone signed a copy, stating that if we didn't make a deal or 2 within a week our wages would be cut by 50%, so that's basically saying everyone is on a basic right? - wrong.

My partner left cause he couldn't stand being messed about by the company to which then with a bit of digging found this forum, which we've both said that we have a feeling it'll be monitored by John himself which I wouldn't be surprised upon.

He can monitor all he likes, not like we haven't monitored him! When he was messing us about I made sure I knew how to find him. He's welcome to take me to court over anything I've said here, it'd be fun. He won't though, he's very much like the copyright trolls that go for an early settlement then run before a real court case.

I honestly feel bad for working under him, he's a bully to his staff, such a high turn over rate there, currently they are recruiting new staff.
I don't see how they can hire people making them think they are on a basic and then say they are on coms only. I was told I could come out with £700 a week on coms, working it out I'd have to get 7 deals a day which makes each deal £20, so imagine working a whole week and not getting a deal and coming away with nothing.

I guess if you were self employed you can't get them for paying too low, did you get anything in writing?

Through indeed, they put new ones up every so often and delete their old ones

I'd certainly complain to the job centre then, say what you were promised in the advert is not what they offered. Won't leaving affect your ability to claim benefits should you need to?

Could say the same for many professions! You never had a job offer talked up then you realise it's bullshit? I've done jobs I've hated because to quit means not eating, the reason these people are promised wages then only paid commission is because none would take it otherwise.

I say fair play for coming on here and saying what is happening. It's the boss that is the crook, the high staff turnover proves this.

I'm sorry but you do realise how hard it is to actually get a job nowadays? I've applied for 100s of jobs and I get nothing back, mainly because they want "experience"
So I'm sorry if I've offended you by working somewhere that's run by crooks, but at least I've jade a decency to join this forum and actually tell people how it is, so before you have a dig at me for it, read previous comments cause I'm not the only one who's worked there!
You don't know what that work place is like, so unless you can enlighten us all about it then please go ahead, but until then I'm here they voice what I know about that place and help people who have been victims of these crooks.

You can't honestly say "get a proper job" - for someone my age it's hard getting jobs cause of not much experience, the age rage for the place goes from 17 up to about 50+, so your telling me that a 50 year old should get a proper job when other work places won't take them on? Yeah okay then.

I feel the need to add to this. It is clear from the myriad of comments that Plum is a Grade a wanker, just because what he does isn't technically illegal doesn't mean he's not a prize twat. He takes advantage of vulnerable staff to get them to in turn take advantage of vulnerable customers, and he reaps all the rewards.

I'm still interested in how the contracts work though, if they tell the job centre one thing then offer another I suspect the job centre need to be told.
