Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Whilst I agree that drivers choose not to obey the lights, the rest of your post is pure rubbish.

If a filter arrow was to be installed, that would give more capacity for cars to go into Riverway - presume you agree with that bit?

So, perhaps excepting the morning shift at Alstom and less a few cars for people who live in that area, the majority of traffic wishes to appear on Lichfield Road? More traffic has gone into Riverway, what happens then? That traffic doesn't disappear into thin air.

Filter arrows are needed on all the traffic lights at Lammascote Road to make it easier for all the traffic to turn, whichever direction they are travelling. It's not just about turning into Riverway.

The problem with the set up as it is now is that traffic that actually wants to turn right at Riverway actually carrys on to St Thomas Street and turns right there, causing further backlog on Weston Road which could be avoided. The cars which wanted to go right onto Riverway then carry on down Dartmouth Street, making what was supposed to be a residential road very dangerous- traffic which should be on the non-residential Riverway.

All traffic wanting to enter the estate between Tixall Road and Riverway from town has to either turn right at Riverway or at Thomas Street, this is a ridiculous situation. It will not magically create more traffic which will not end up there anyway.

My understanding is that the only reason there is no filter lane on their to begin with is because it is currently an emergency route for fire engines to get from Beaconside to A34.

OMG! I've just witnessed a driver on the queensway island ( lichfield/w'ton road)junction (kwik fit island) sitting on a green light on the junction on the Lichfield road lane as the junction road was blocked (which is what they should do) but when the lights went Amber they panicked moved onto the yellow box and sat on it as they entered it when the couldn't clear the junction (which is what you shouldn't do) ok this is normal daily event but what is really bad and I couldn't believe this was done right in front of the path of marked police transit van blocking the police vans route from the queensway onto the wolverhampton road. A three pointer if I ever saw one and what did the police do - NOTHING !

Indeed.

A few traffic light cameras at the lights where there is a particularly big problem would soon put a stop to it though, and raise a few quid into the process.

I may have mentioned this before, but are the box-junction markings outside the Grapes only existing in my mind?
Carrying on from this... if you have been sitting in the (possibly imaginary) yellow box when the pedestrian crossing activates, surely letting ped-folk (no not paed-folk) actually cross might be a good idea.

I agree, it's really difficult to cross the road there, as your not safe there if the plonkers are in the yellow box when the green man is on, basically if the drivers are stupid enough to drive onto a yellow box they obviously haven't a clue about the highway code and they aren't going to respect the fact the green man is on for pedestrians to cross. Sadly I think another red light is required by the crossing. I admit it must be difficult when the road is congested to judge if your way is clear round that corner, I think poor road planning is also a cause of this problem, this is an old system unable to cope with the congestion.

I saw an idiot try to blast through the flooded part of Gaol Road by the four crosses island the other day, hoping to ensure the water wouldn't get chance to go up his exhaust - rather than taking a slight detour like everyone else.

A-hem... I would just like to take this opportunity to apologise to the few people trying to crawl along the bookies windowsill in hope to stay dry. You've got to admit though, you did laugh later that day about it. You did, right?? :D

I dip into this thread expecting to see a comment about an idiot and me fitting the description, best off on my bike I think.

Is that the big puddle that's normally by the Citroen place? Been soaked trying to get past that one a few times!
Got to walk down Lichfield Rd later this morning - just hoping the puddles have dried up by then as many drivers think it's hilarious to swerve in closer to the gutter by puddles as I'm just walking past them.

The driver of this car is obviously a tw@t, but I found the commentary of his own crime quite amusing...
...I think it deserves a mention on Top Gear, especially as it sounds a bit like Jeremy Clarkson.
