Its OK, nowt special though. Mind you they were only just setting up when I went in, but the grow bags were cheaper at wilko for example. They sell some grown on veggies, mainly flowers though.

Been there for a while - doesn't look (from driving past) to have a huge stock and as Tek seems to agree, I didn't think it would be that cheap.

Fair play to whoever set it up though.

I must be more observant. I go past there a few times every week and I've never noticed it. I will investigate today - or tomorrow...

If I had, then I wouldn't have got near enough to not notice it.

Apologies all round i canna check this place out until friday, suffice to say i'll do an in depth investigation and could anyone suggest a couple of 'test purchases' as i've been asked to visit on an official basis.....

I may be tied up tomorrow, and possibly Thursday, and so it may have to be a Friday recce on my behalf also. You distract them with your babbling mentalism ( shouldn't be too hard ) and I'll go round on the blind side....

Babbling mentalism could be construed as some kind of water torture feature, i know this a a neighbour has one and it's constant 24/7 trickle in the summer months does my head in. Those at camp x-ray could maybe make use of it.....

I have just had a quick look at the new garden emporium. It is, as has been said, not wildly exciting, but it's worth a look in if you're passing. They have various bedding plants and will make up hanging baskets for the more masochistic amongst you. They do have a rabbit for you to play with and he has a three storey hutch*, which is very swish. They had a water feature which was not operating at the time. I wondered if they had heard rumours of a possible official visit and were concerned about excessive babbling?

*Surely they are intended to live in cellars, not tower blocks.

I had a top level meeting with my useless snout who i'm sure some of you will have found his info lacking of late. Over a rather drunken lunch i gave the oik one last chance to redeem himself, i hesitantly gave him the simple task of doing the reccy at the garden centre. He was charged with reporting his findings to me at 20:00 tonight it is my sad duty to inform folk that i have recieved no such undertaking and as a result i regretfully have to inform that Basil is now at war with ....Gilbert........

I have visited the Reynolds Centre on several occasions since this garden centre opened and every time I've seen the guys who run this place arguing, messing around on tractors, trolleys, etc in the Reynolds Centre's car park.

According to the restaurant staff this is not an unfamiliar site and must be very distracting to the other buisnesses in the Centre. No wonder most of the offices are unoccupied.

I have learned since that the Garden Centre was set up with the help of the Princes Trust. It's good to see the funding of this worthy trust being appreciated and put to such good use as an indoor tractor racing track, isn't it?

Anyway the Garden centre itself was very sparse, the plants were extremely dry and in need of a good watering, some looked dead and as stated in previous posts more expensive than other places in town.

There are now chickens to keep the rabbits company but they have no bedding and goodness knows how old the eggs are.

I would recommend avoiding this place if at all possible.

Well, hello, Hooperman. When I was sitting at the lights the other day I noticed that the place looked deserted and the gates were chained shut. If it's in that state at this time of the year, then I don't see it making Christmas, do you?

This garden centre seems to be a vacant plot again. This seemed predictable from the earliest days....
