I've just had a few flickers on the mains supply - and I understand there is a small power cut in the north of the town at the moment - the flickers were probably a symptom of that occurance...

We had the flickers too. Strangely each time the speakers "whirred" and vibrated on the desk making a really loud noise. Computers stayed on though. Glad it's not just us!

If it's underground then it could be a while...

In the old days they wouldn't have people writing Kv when they mean kV, it doesn't inspire confidence.....

Edit :- I'm getting at e-on, not Tumbleweed here..

PC's tend to handle it quite well if it's just a flicker. In reality the power has massively dropped and risen again and not physically gone off, and most modern power supplies (including the ones in computers) can actually adjustr themselves to various input voltages within certain ranges and keep their output constant - hence no crash.

It's playing mayhem with our router though. grrrrrrrr

We didn't have power for around an hour and three quarters, just long enough for it to go fooking freezing and to count my blessings that I am not addicted to X Factor like a few I know!

We had no power for just over an hour, I called central networks and they said a power cable had become damaged and it would be off until after 10pm however it came back on after 8pm

Was funny seeing the whole area with no power and in total darkness
