How do I edit this?
Just had a play with this site and got this:

Current data is only available till 2009. In 2009, the relative worth of £0.15 from 1971 is:

£1.58 using the retail price index
£1.59 using the GDP deflator
£2.81 using the average earnings
£3.29 using the per capita GDP
£3.63 using the share of GDP
Which suggests that the price of beer has stayed much the same in comparison to the average wage, but has gone up considerably in comparison to other household expenses...

Good point well made

There are 55,000 pubs

Soon there will be 40,000

On average a pub makes a living from 1,000 adults

And rising...

Venture Capitalists PUNCH work out what we all already know

Or, half priced pubs soon to be quarter priced...

Popped in to The George in Eccy for a swifty last night, once again had to send the first pint back. I reckon I send more beer back in there than I drink. General tone of post service coversation twixt the bar staff suggested that I wasn't the first yesterday to send beer back, so why hadn't they done anything about it? Not the best advert for your own product!

Tinna right

Love the pub but they must be on their fourth manager in three years and as the brewery started there youd kinda expect beer a priority

But what do I know about running a business...

My point exactly, I reckon I send the first pint back every other time I visit, funnily enough it's always the Top Totty that gets sent back and whatever my second choice has been it's always been OK. At least I get to try other beers in their product range.

Timothy Taylors Golden Best on at The Crown at the moment, backed up with Wye Valley HPA one of my personal faves.

I took it to be an expression of incredulity that such a situation could be allowed to happen repeatedly, particularly in such circumstances.

Nice to see you bamboozled by a response, though...
