Cant edit :( so if i got one i could stick it in the spare bedroom attach it through WIFI throw my show onto load Plex and forget about it.

Yup, mines in the attic and never gets turned off. I try to remember to reboot it once every few months though, as its running windows.

No, its completely bare. I put windows 7 on mine as I had a spare code, but you can install pretty much anything.

I am a bit confused with these severs, i have a pc that is on from when i get up until i go to bed, i stream Plex from this pc, if i was to get one of these because i am a tech junkie what would it be used for?

I used to use a PC but I realised it was consuming a lot of power, mine is on 24/7 as I stream externally. The older N40L consumed about 50w of power when running compared to about 250w of my old PC as it was an old gaming rig I'd salvaged. Therefore the microserver paid for itself within a few months just through reduced electricity usage. The N54L uses a bit more power but not a lot, I actually have one of each in my loft now.

It won't use the full 850w, it should only draw what it needs. That said I think my old CPU was 100w on its own!

i got one a few months ago , i should have waited because i paid full price for it though.

.... may just get another , although im unsure what to use it for , my other controls all my media , storage and security cams.
