They seem to have done pretty much what they were intended to do - which was to flood the park and Sainsbury's car-park rather than the main part of town. The park will recover fairly easily with a few new bedding plants. The surface of the paths (like the new bike path) are a resin which dosn't wash away (all the paving and brick work in town would be severly damaged). You also have to remember that this level of flood is catagorised as 1 in 100 year (which is why the last one was 7 years ago!) and the mayority of the flood defence system is to deal with more normal levels like those last week which would usually cause some disrution to roads but only got mentioned because the new bike track was flooded.Moley said:Sorry my point is - they haven't worked very well
