Gf has just told me everyone got it free on Wednesday. She thinks it will carry on that way but isn't 100%

Front page of The Chronicle last week was the news that the E&S would now be delivered once a week to most ST16 and ST17 addresses, but some are excluded.

If the Gf isn't 100% - then it might be time for a trade-up....

Perhaps it's a replacement for the Chronicle, or Express & Star Lite, as it was sometimes known.

Express and Star's got problems so out goes the Chronicle and in comes a free Wednesday E&S. Probably suits the BNP reader! Hopefully all newspapers will go broke and people will learn to think for themselves....

what a bizarre comment.. surely one reads a newspaper to try and keep abreast of, well, the news? it's not a form of mind control, you know! lol.. i could understand you attacking one particular newspaper, if you weren't a fan of its political slant for instance, but to write off all newspapers seems very odd.. if people "learn to think for themselves," with no external information to digest and process, they would end up just endlessly contemplating their own existence!

what are these ties the E&S has to the BNP that you allude to? :strange:

i'm quite happy with the substitution, tbh.. the chronic was barely read in our house (presumably because there was barely anything to read in it) - at least the E&S has a bit more meat to it :)

The new Mill Bank development will be revealed this weekend, and it's gonna look like this:

That looks awfully wide considering its just on the old Coach's car park! At least these flats face the right way, so you get sunshine on the balconies overlooking the river. And spoons beer garden....

I wonder if anything will actually open there anyway. I bet it ends up empty just like the unit next to the yard.

Surely the twat and his crawly bum lick entourage think that tings are hunky dory. Well it just goes to show what corrupt sham this local politico business is.......

It's an interesting tactic by the Express & Star. They've dropped their weekly Chronicle and replaced it with the daily (just on Wednesday's) which is a) better quality and b) has all the Chronicle ads in anyway. So they get all the ads in one paper instead of two. The Sporting Pink has also been axed for this season as Wolves won't be playing as often on Saturdays and they're now going big on the Rangers in the midweek edition instead (today's has got a big spread in by well-known Stafford hack/ex-boxer Tony Connolly and they've been all over this £50k rescue story this week). The Sentinel seems to have disappeared completely and the Snooze is just about on its last legs (noticed how many of the classifieds have Burton phone numbers these days?)
the real danger for the town is the Stafford Post, whose parent group has been axing titles left, right and centre in recent months, including titles in Cannock and Lichfield. I don't quite get where the BNP fit into the local papers debate - hopefully nowhere! – but I would say that if they disappear WHO is going to keep tabs on the council/report the courts/provide advertising to traders??? Those council/police 'newspapers' that come through the door offer a totally rose-tinted view of everything. Now THERE is a danger to democracy – and we're paying for it.

Stop paying council tax and start your own paper...
