I doubt it. Many of them are too thick for the penny to drop.Is the penny finally dropping?
Looking at this Gladiatorial battle for the Tory leadership, I'm reminded of a line from Game of Thrones, (That of late has caused much concern amongst the fans about how it ended.)
It is in regard to Danaerys Targaryen, one of the principle characters of the entire show. The Targaryen name in the show is hitorically another word for 'madness' but if you're not a fan, I wont produce any spoilers. However, one of her close advisers, starting to wonder exactly how her course line is stretching out into the future, comments:
"When a Targaryen is born, the Gods flip a coin."
Well with this leadership battle is starting to look like the senate just before Julius Caesar entered the building, and I feel I must paraphrase another famous movie line to describe it:
"We're gonna need a bigger coin."
Well no facts back it up so....I'll always remember a line from a Radio 4 phone-in about endowment mortgages - a chap asked if he should make additional payments to his existing plan, as the provider had suggested - one of the panel was circumspect, but said -
"Remember, the people who get you into a mess are rarely the best people to get you out of it".
I don't know a single confirmed leaver who has even expressed slight doubts about the end product, just annoyance at the delays.
It seems to be essentially a belief.
