Lewis Hamilton

After watching the awesome drive by Lewis in Monaco this weekend, I've come to realize, never in any sport in British history has one sportsman made me goosepimply all over and brought tears to my eyes with his sheer greatness. I've spent the day watching the race again and again, in such hazardous conditions and after an early crash at the Tabac, skidding into the barrier, he goes on to make his childhood dream become reality and win the Monaco Grand Prix.
All at the tender age of 23, making him the youngest winner in Monte Carlo's history. In his own words "This will be the highlight of my life".

how come towards the end they stopped counting down the laps and swapped to an 11 minute countdown? i was watching it with a house full and so had the volume turned down and couldn't tell what was going on.. does that usually happen, or was it something to do with having the saftey car out for so long near the end?

The race is over either 78 laps OR 2 hours whichever they reach first.

And you're right MISS T, what a fantastic race. We were still at the Middle of Nowhere but as soon as we got home we plugged into the ITV website connected it up to the tele and watched it from there. Awesome

Lewis won that race fair and square. He out classes and out drove Kimi.

I was suffering with the hangover from Hell and I was still leaping around the room like a demented moron. I have signed the petition but maybe we need the money that Ferrari has got to sway the decision. Someone, somewhere is getting a backhander.

Im not a big F1 fan, but do like to see how the races go and the fortunes of our Mr Hamilton.

Saw the incident Sunday and i think they got this decision wrong, Hamilton didn't gain an advantage with his move,if anything he was trying to avoid a crash.

I could have understood the protest if the other driver involved finished the race just behind after being in a winning position, but he crashed out a few laps later, so the incident had no overall bearing on the race result and in my view, the result should have stood.

Wonder if Ferrari tried to blame their drivers error on Hamilton as well?

A view from the Drivers perceptive, thrilling I think you'll agree.

What an awful pic, so thanks DirtyBobster for repeating it....Tenshon is trying to work out why I can't upload it on another forum for me, so that's why it turned up here. Anonymity ruined.

YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Up yours Ferrari/FIA.

The worst race I have ever had to endure, painful at best. My tears of woe had already begun to flow on the final lap then in seconds everything turned upside down. Still numb.

Got to say that Massa was exceptionally honourable.
Although very disappointed, his post race interview clearly showed that he is respectful of others.

Oh, and Timo Glock should get BBC's Overseas Sports Personality of the Year Award.
