I work in Crewe, and use the A51 as an alternative route if the M6 is blocked.Florence said:South of J16. Took over an hour to get back from Crewe. I left at about 7.45.

As there was hardly any traffic about we thought the 'Queues ahead' sign had been left on in error from an earlier incident! Went around a bend to find 3 lines of stationery traffic.....good job we had left an hour earlier in case of punctures/breakdowns etc , but it was still panic stations!Withnail said:Never, in the history of smileys, has an smiley been more justified.staffordjas said:(Got stuck in a 1 hour traffic jam on the M6 last summer going to B'ham airport at 2.30am! )
