Manure? Jesus christ. I thought the lingo from Loaded magazine was rightfully binned when folk realised Alan Davies et al weren't funny. ;)

Not many fans can show that much passion? They're the most repugnant misbehaved fans in the country. The loveable scouser steretoype that SSN have been perpetuating since before the match yesterday is a complete myth.

I got out of bed the wrong side this month and the thought of seeing some vermin waving six fingers at me is making my blood boil.
Hahaha. Mission accomplished! Not all scousers are inbreds either Gloop..

As a real football fan who supports his home town team at considerable expense! ;) I thought you may be interested in my unbiased opinion!
I have attended Liverpool twice recently and sat/stood in the Kop (in the interest of science). If you have not been, I reccomend it to you! I am no lover of Liverpool generally or its populace in particular, but the atmosphere is second only to Marston Road. This view incidentally, was confirmed by my very frightened brother in law who had to be persuaded to accompany my lad on his birthday trip to Anfield (I was on duty and he was the very last person I could ask/trust) ... My brother in law is a season ticket holder at .... Old Trafford!

Sorry but I have to agree with BBC!

Well said Mr Seed!

I shall also offer my unbiased opinion. Having visited both Old trafford and Anfield this season, the two atmospheres are incomparable!

Old trafford - 74000 'fans' but hardly any singing unless playing in Europe or against Liverpool/Man City/Arsenal/Chelsea. Stadium is huge (and messy!) but lacks any real atmosphere. The odd chant from the stretford end excluded. I've been there with England too and the atmosphere is just as disappointing so maybe it has something to do with the Stadium design. 'Theatre of dreams?' well it has nearly sent me to sleep more than once!

Anfield on the other hand is a proper old style english football stadium and unlike Old trafford is full of people from the local area namely scousers. This is where the real passion comes from. The noise when the kop is in full voice is almost deafening creating an atmosphere only really bettered by St James's Park in full voice! I was at the Olympiakos game when Gerrard scored that half volley a couple of seasons back and i've never witnessed a reaction or atmosphere like it. As the players came off the pitch and the fans sang 'you'll never walk alone' you could almost feel the stands shaking. Amazing.

The only way to decide who has the more passionate fans is by having the biggest game the two teams have ever played against each other. The champions league final. So for one night only 'Come on Man U' :o

Balls to the pair of ya. I've been to Anfield 9 times and I've witnessed both the noise of the Kop and, more often than not, a library like atmosphere. Namely because we've won. The only ground that I'd put at the top my list for atmosphere - in full swing, hostile but absolutely mint - was Elland Road back when they had a decent team.

BBC - you are joking about Anfield being filled by people from the local area, i.e scousers. It's a mixed group just like it is at OT et al. Nor is OT just filled with out of towners. The atmosphere at our place has been shite ever since the capacity was increased first time around, the design is also shite which they admit too. Losing nearly 4k of the hardcore supporters didn't help last Summer either (ta Malcolm). It'll get worse unfortunately as will the new Liverpool ground once the 'real' fans are outpriced and daytrippers take up more and more of the allocation.

And that will happen unfortunately.

Edit: I blow a raspberry in your general direction. ;)

Despite being generally errant the lad does make a few salient points! ;)

Strangely last time I was at Anfield there were large numbers of Scandanavians!

They have a supporters branch over there as do Utd and FC Utd. Fair play to them but that's a bloody expensive match ticket I bet!!

As for last night, garbage. A cowardly performance by a set of players who didn't want it enough. Hey ho. City haven't scored at home since December. You watch us contrive to ensure that record is broken on Saturday.

I love your positive outlook when it comes to your team Gloop!

Yeah last night was massively disappointing. Talk about throwing it away early doors. Vidic didn't look fully fit and Heinze wants shooting for the defending on the second goal. Thought Milan played well but the first two goals were gifted to them. It's gonna be a tough ask for Liverpool in a couple of weeks. Hopefully their fans and their unrivalled passion will act as a '12th man'!!

Gutted for the 'pool tonight. Totally outplayed a lacklustre Milan side but couldn't take their chances and ultimately paid the price. Can't believe the ref blew early though. Shocking.

Now reality dawns that there is no serious football for three whole months. No Soccer am either. Gutted! Good job the close season falls in summer though :)

4000th post? Whatever, I'm nonchalant..
milan seem to have that nack of looking average but scoring at the right time. it's a shame that with 3 english teams in the semis we couldn't win in.

Forza Milano!

For all the decent possession the vermin had they created bugger all 'real' chances. Considering the amount of cash they've got to spend I hope they don't get the two creative players they need and a 20 goal a season striker. ;)

Nice to see the fat waiter muck it up tactically too. Milan were there for the taking, a shadow of the team I saw put three past us in Milan. Should've played two up top and dropped Alonso, pushing Gerrard back into midfield. Mascherano was doing the work of two players anyway so Xabi wouldn't have been missed. A sublime defenisve midfielder. Had Kaka in his pocket until he was subbed after 70mins. Then look what happend.
