Eighteen months age, my wife tripped over a displaced rusty gridle in the square with witnesses and photos, injuring her hip and head, they refered it to their lawyers, who wrote saying they are satisfied with the maintenance and case closed. Not they or the council once enquired about my wife's well being, there were also cobbles missing, now they are spending tens of thousands of pounds on what was according the them a satisfactory maintained square !!, This council loves spending our money with gay abandon. grrrrr

Quite a few of the paving stones near the 4 telephone boxes have deep ridges between them where they should be filled in. If you were wanting to make a phone call & you were walking in stilettos across there, you'd ruin your shoes plus likely twist your ankle. I missed the slab tour on Saturday so I cannot confirm whether this is the situation elsewhere.

probably due to the pressure washing?

A lot of the slabs are still cement strained. Also the area around the drain outside HSBC is settling slightly.
With the scaffolding up they'll have to come back to finish the section as well, someone messed up the planning there.

Stepson has a degree in construction management. When we were walking round the Market Square earlier this week he picked up a number of faults, including uneven bricks. Reckons 3 months.

I notice the jet washing has blown out some of the grouting. clever...
Grouting, that's right. I couldn't recall the word earlier. Missing grouting - a basic mistake.

The bricks around one of the covers (painted yellow :( )outside boots are starting to collapse.

and

Not quite market square but they have managed to put all the bricks back after digging up outside the old M&S, so that goes to show that contactors never need to put tarmac down after 'repairs'.
