Apart from the uni, can anyone recommend a good masseur from experience? I have the most awful knots in my back and shoulders and could really do with some experienced hands to work them out for me.

Any other suggestions on how to deal with knotted muscles? I think its a combination of stress and a complete total lack of exercise in the last couple of months :(

A friend of mine got 'massaged' near the Tap and Spile late on Friday night. If anybody has any information as to the identities of the three culprits then it would be most gratefully received.

I think the college do it too, can find out if you like? Although the uni students should be better I suppose!

check out stafford skin clinic on the corner of mill street and church lane.

they are very good and offer other non-skin related treatments.

which reminds me, i actually have a voucher for an aromotherapy massage from there so i may be treating myself at christmas.

there used to be a beauty bit at riverside that offered massages- i dont spose that moved to the new leisure centre did it?

Well, chill out man! Sorry not constructive - as a stress head myself i can sympathise.

Concerning exercise. It doesnt have to be torture. 5 mins in the morning stretching out the old back works wonders.

Lie on your back, arms out to the sides, knees bent. Let your back relax into the floor.
Strighten out one leg and bring the other knee over that leg to touch the floor.
Repeat for the other side.

This is great for the back. You can feel each side of your back nicely stretching out. The spine is also worked on.

Dont push your body further than its willing to go. The back is a minefield of pain if not looked after properly when doing any sort of exercise. These things take time and regularity is the key.

Discliamer: Always consult a pro!

Google isnt a help - this one maybe more to do with Sash Court I fear

On a serious note avoid anyone who is a physiotherapist - sadists!

Look for aromatherapists - but make sure they are qualified as some of the oils can be rather dangerous

You have a fair point vis-a-vis the DM! I'm pretty sure my stress levels are almost soley due to work and they just manifest themselves as intollerant eliteism as a result of readiing the DM. Thats my excuse anyway, guv.

I'm quite liking the idea of an aromatherapy session though, I wonder if they will let me take my vapouriser ;) Seriously though I know nothing of this art, is there anything I should perhaps avoid, if only at first when consulting such a practicianor?

I had a go at astroboy's lying down exercise last night, the temptaion to push further is quite great, although as advised I stayed within what appeared to be reasonable limits. It doesn't half feel nice though!

Sessions last around 45 minutes to an hour

You should have the appropriate oils tested on your skin first ( hand )

No booze or coffee for a while before hand

or after

and relax,,,,,,,
