My son was brought up behaving himself , the odd time he tried it on he'd get a clout and soon behaved! ( none of this naughty step stuff, or bargaining/bribing as I've heard so many shouting at their kids with no effect).

I was brought up strict though, and didn't have him til I was 40 ,so classed as a geriatric mum in hospital.

He's not got kids yet , so hoping he has at least one before we pop our clogs.

That government alert thing just frightened the life out of me, I had no idea my phone could make that noise 🤦🏻‍♀️
Mine and sons went off , but hubby's didnt.
He says the govt mustnt think hes worth saving 😂

Lots of sons mates didn't get their alerts either

I didn't think it was very loud, I could have probably slept through that if it happened at night
I thought that as well. If it had have been in the other room I don't think I'd have heard it (hubby never even heard mine go off as I was in the kitchen , and he didn't even have the telly on). Was expecting it to be blasting out. His was switched on and didn't get the alert. He was sitting watching for it as son had just warned us to expect it.

I really hope I do, cos there's a lot I still want to do with my life.
Can you do any of it now? Cos that's the best time!

I'm both glad I waited very late to have kids and afraid I won't be active enough for him. I'll be in my 60s when he's 16!
Waiting to finish the mortgage. Then I want to drop a day at work, have some time for me. I've been working for the last 36/37yrs, 60hrs a week sometimes. I think I need a rest asap.

My phone went off at the same time my sisters did, what a noise! I didn't know mine could be so loud either. Makes you wonder why though doesn't it? I've watched all 3 Kingsmen/man....................

We managed to pay a lump sum off ours, but actually extended it slightly too. The interest rate was good and we wanted to lower our outgoings rather than speed up payback. Means we can live off one salary, a luxury nowadays!

Mine was really quiet, although my phone was on as loud as I could get it?

Mine didn't go off because I disabled it. I'll turn it back on when in France, as I don't trust our government to use it sensibly. I expect eventually there'll be emergency warnings when it's forecast to rain, telling us to only travel if necessary or if there's a bit of wind. A bit like they try to scare us with the endless weather warnings from the Met Office now. Funny how in countries that have proper weather, they have far less warnings.
