Sometimes you can be remarkably mean-spirited.

In fairness to Tilly's comments the BBC had a reporter in Thailand yesterday and when asked about any outpourings of grief or sadness he said there hasn't been any because the public didn't know a lot about Vichai's business' goings on.

It then went on to say how much he had done not only for Leicester City but also the local community.

The stage is big enough. At some points there were 30 dancers on stage at the same time.
The seats are removable so on this occasion they took out three rows of seats to accommodate the orchestra.
Seats sales usually start from row B but on Sunday the front row was row E.

I know from your previous comments that you don’t have a high opinion of The Gatehouse but quite a lot of people support it and quite like being able to watch a show without having to travel a fair distance to do so.

Thanks for the gen on the layout

The very same stage has seen the likes of Sting ,Gene Vincent, Alex Higgins and Phil Lynott, not to mention Jimmy Savile,

I remember going to see the wrestling at the Borough Hall. There was a sort of reciprocating engine of ballet on the front rows where a lot of mad gnarled old women with sticks would jump up and down and shout: "Tear his balls off .."

This was much more frightening than the Kent Walton chicanery going on in the ring. I'm telling you, those women would have put the heebie jeebies up the SAS.

I think I would much prefer to watch a bit of Tchaikovsky. even though the Russians have been behaving a bit like those old women lately.

Oh I see, apologies, my mistake.

I’m looking forward to The Simon and Garfunkel story next week.
I’ve also just bought tickets for Russell Watson next year, quite a few seats gone already considering they only went on sale yesterday.

In an effort to broaden our horizons and experiences we’re trying out things that we haven’t done before.

Last night we went to the ballet.

Swan Lake at Stafford Gatehouse, sold out show, full 30 piece orchestra, Russian ballet company.

I’m glad that I went, loved the music, the orchestra, the very talented dancers.

The whole experience was lovely. Not sure that I’m a total ballet convert but I’m glad that I’ve ticked it off my list.

Oh dear.
Just realised that the next thing that I haven’t done (in alphabetical order) after ballet, is bungee jumping.

Might skip that and go to the next one on the list
Last year a friend of mine took me on a mystery tour, we hopped on the train to Birmingham and she had booked us tickets to The Nutcracker Sweet at the Hippodrome. In the foyer I realised what we were going to see and I have to say I wasn't that keen, really not my thing.
Anyways, I sat for a couple of hours completely mesmerised , it was magical. Like @Carol, although not sure at first, I'm so glad I went.

Today I saw an email from a mail order firm called 'Coopers of Stortford.'
It was headed: 'Bring back lighter nights.'
Now I've always held that this clocks going back sh1t in late October should properly be described as 'Bring Winter On.' (Oh, and **** the Stark words, a family of pessimists or what ?)
Gleefully I opened it thinking this was either a device to deviate clocks around the world, or even tilt the Earth's axis which is causing all this sh1t in the first place. Alas, I discovered, it was an advert for a: 'Dimmable daylight reading lamp.'
Those f****** Starks are right of course ….

Winter is coming. :strange:

2nd try at being on holiday from work.

Mini-me ate ''Glazed Ham' crisps while I was out & so ended her Vegetarian stint. Shame she didn't polish off the ''Brussels Sprout' flavour ones too....
