I got stuck in quick sand up to my waist today at Talacre beach . I walked though a shallow pool , the sand was pretty solid under my feet then on the next step I was thigh deep and within seconds I was waist deep. It was actually quite scary!

Maintaining the garden is generally the tenant’s responsibility, so you’d be doing him a favour if anything.

Crumble anyone? Should you be travelling through Church Eaton there's lots of rhubarb on my stall.

Went to the Treacle Market today. It was 31°C and too hot to take dogs but what did we see? Loads of people dragging overheating dogs behind them.

Had a walk (well hobble) along part of the Monsall Trail today, knowing that it was flat for me and had lots of shade for Bee and a tunnel to cool her down. We took our time an she had loads of drinky stops but I did notice two joggers and a cyclist dragging their dogs with them.

It was lovely to see loads of people/families cycling, walking, exploring, etc.enjoying a bit of exercise. I even saw two or three groups of teenagers on the trail enjoying the walk!!!! Wot no phone apps :)

Forgot to add I stopped for a coffee and loo break on the way back and whilst using the disabled loo there were three loud raps on the door. I shouted I wouldn't be long and then there was a barrage of knocking every 10 secs or so.

Thinking it was someone in a hurry I was as quick as I could be,only to find a teenage oik waiting outside. When I told him there was no need to keep knocking his reply "do I look like I give a f*!king sh*t", to which I promptly blocked him from entering the disabled loo, shut the door and replied "well you will do unless you find your own fecking RADAR key in a hurry, now f. off you little turd".

He threatened to get his mates and ran away. When I left the building I saw him across the car park with his mates so I went over and told them about my experience.

The little turd burst into tears as his mates ripped the pee out of him (not literally).

Hopefully he's learnt a bit of respect but somehow I doubt it.

3 times today I've had a call from 'my internet provider's technical department'. I am now bored of trying to string them along for a while; but I would imagine they really scare some people.

I go all medieval with these people because they do prey on the vulnerable. They usually hang up when I get to the part where I'm eating their spleens with a nice chianti … (while they're still alive :pie:) :teef:

This is why I tell people to kill their landline phone. They serve so little use now, and are basically just a spam magnet

I had a guy at the door the other day claiming he was working for money saving expert and could help me save on my electricity/gas. I told him I use the MSE energy club and I knew what the best prices were, but he persevered. I then pointed out that the website he was showing me on his tablet was not actually MSE, and offered to take him to the right place. He left.

Some of you may remember me talking about Norman, my lovely friend from Haughton.
He’s 94 and has become a bit of a local celebrity since his return from the Normandy trip.

I feel privileged to know him, he’s an amazing man.

Nearly two years ago he gave me his memoirs to read.
It was a huge A4 file, typed out by him, unedited.

I started slowly, probably out of politeness, but then a little way in, I kept reading and reading, totally mesmerised.

At that time he hadn’t even shown his children.
I was like...”Norman.....they need to see this”

Anyway, to cut a long story short, he came round today. His book has been published and he’s brought me a copy with a lovely heartfelt hand written message inside.
The only downside is that in the editing process they’ve missed out some of the best bits (according to Norman himself). I’m so glad that I read the long version. It was fascinating.

But still, if anyone is interested

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Leaving-Past-Behind-Norman-Williams/dp/1081110864/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Norman+Williams&qid=1567111085&refinements=p_72:419155031&s=gateway&sr=8-1

How many people get to be a published author at 94?

I’ve spent the week doing country stuff....

I’ve been given produce so I’ve made jam.

I’m so pleased with myself., I can’t tell you. (Actually that’s not true, I’m actually going to tell you.)

I’ve not made jam for 10 years but this week I’ve made
    Strawberry.
    Strawberry and Raspberry
    Damson
    Marrow and Ginger

It’s all set so I’m happy.

It’s going on the church stall tomorrow for sale.

My cars MOT today, it's not a really old car but the mileage is getting pretty high due to my daily commute to Leamington Spa. Dreading the impending cost.
