With a bit of sponging of the groundsheet, got a good 'only used once ' 2 man dome tent. Even the guy ropes and other bits and pieces hadn't been used.

Hardest part was getting it back into the carry bag .

(Mate who lent son the brand new tent couldn't be arsed to carry it home when they got off the train after the festival , so left it in his boot. She is now miles away and disappeared off the scene )

I shall keep it here in safe storage ;)

I used to camp a lot, in all manner of places all over the UK, especially remote parts of Scotland. (They've got mountains up there that could almost make you weep …. and THEY DO. :o)

But these days I've discovered pubs and small hotels, with bars, food and no sheep munching grass a canvas thickness away (yes yes I know canvas is long gone, I too have an old tent in the attic.)

Kumbaya, or another pint in front of the fire ? …. (One horse race.) :teef::pint:

Liked the new water feature in Stafford today, the waterfall down the side of Boots and the stream running down the middle of the road from it.

When he's speaking to me, he speaks 'proper english' as he knows I'm going to keep saying " What's that mean?" "Does that mean good or bad ?" etc
I've got this bookmarked now for when I'm watching telly.....

....

Is it like a gangsta rap type slang?
Or just general teen slang?

I’ve honestly never heard it except for on tv, no young people I know speak like that.

Although as you mention, it’s entirely possible that they revert to the Queens English when in the proximity of a grown up.

Dunno if the following term is still in the ‘yoof’ lexicon but if it’s of any help: ‘bad’ means ‘good’.
Like 'sick' ......I used to ring up work when dying (Apparently they don't say that now......) after a good night out saying I was off 'sick'....wonder what they say now?

We had 1 bloke ring in and say he was too tired to come to work, the nurse in charge asked him to repeat what he had just said, thus giving him time to change it, and he goes ''I'm too tired to come in, I'm just going to go back to bed''.

He's been on stage with famous rappers , doing sets on the decks. But think it's also mixing with uni students and the youngsters he's in charge of at work and goes out with.

The lads who have been around his house and been talking uncomprehensable lingo, have then been so well spoken when just talking to me .
