Husband and I are discussing pain thresholds....... Who wins? Men or women?
Having had 4, quite big babies. Youngest was the heaviest at 9lb 12oz.(2 pushes, 2 screams and 2 stitches!) Received pain relief everytime, but it only worked for the first. I'd say women.
Then again my pain threshold is below the foundations of a building, I don't have 1. I feel every knock and seem to bruise easily these days too.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Nice walk on the beach this morning, followed by a bike ride in Bowland this afternoon. The day has had the autumnal feel of one of those late September sunny days to it. Very nice but in a way quite depressing.

There I was enjoying a nice Lush pink bath when the husband decides this is the opportune moment to investigate why the bathroom sink has been draining so slowly...

I was bathing in a sea of pink with a rose face mask on when he starts screaming:

'OPEN THE TOILET!! OPEN THE TOILET'

As he comes nearer grasping the plastic U bend the smell of death-ass-sewage hits me and I Iunge out of my blissful rosewater to open the lid.

Out pours 6 years of hair and grot (did I mention the smell of death-ass-sewage??)

Needless to say the bath was over.

I decided the best option was to shower off and fling open the bathroom window.

This was a poor decision.

I then endured an ice cold shower (husband is using the hot water to clean out the U bend) and to top if off the neighbours dog watched me shower the entire time.

Happy Sunday people!

Had a great weekend celebrating hubby's birthday , but certainly shocked me how the Covid rules have suddenly seemed to go out of the window.
After telling son how safe and spaced out our local was , our Friday nights visit had more tables , some bar queue 'spots' been taken off and more movement to and fro between tables. Still had a most enjoyable meal and night out though :)

Son's " no- one by me bothers anymore" made think it was going to be just the youngsters in a few places there.
Our night out in Worcester was a real shock with all ages , both customers and staff going about as though Covid has never existed :o and people in the street seeming not to have heard of social distancing.
But had a great night in a Texas style restaurant , followed by a few pints in a good old fashioned real ale pub.:pint:

Comfy night at sons rather than risking our usual hotel . ( And just couldn't resist getting stuck into his ironing before we went out, despite being told I was supposed to be there to relax...)

On the way home on Sunday , hubby's actual birthday, we'd booked a surprise Sunday lunch at The Holt Fleet hotel in Worcestershire. Fantastic setting , fantastic meal and service , fantastic views by the riverside and staff and customers all wearing masks.
Really pleased son mentioned he'd had a nice meal there the other week as it really did make the day ' special'.

A long way from Stafford , but well worth a visit if passing that way!

The bday weekend continues into tonight for me and hubby....got another table booked for when he finishes work. :D

I think you two might be single handedly keeping the eat out to help out going.

Whatever job your husband does, how do I go about applying?

The carer is in a mood, as its our last day off together & the last chance for us to go out for a meal under the eat out scheme.... But I still don't have the courage to do it...

.... He's probably more on a mood as he's got to cook tea!

We were scared stiff venturing out that first time to The Wildwood, but felt so safe in there that have stuck to there. ( Apart from hubby's suprise sat/ sun weekend away). Before that we hadn't been anywhere since before lockdown, not even Shopping.
Must say the food in there was 'hit or more miss 'a year or so ago under the old management, but each time we've been Since lockdown its Been fantastic and staff are brilliant!
We've also been eating there when the offer hasn't been on. Just enjoying making up for lost time. Might as well spend the cancelled holiday money on some good night's out :)
Need those nights out chatting to others after being stuck in with hubby working from home ;)

Enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days in M.R.I. with a fellow local tonight :)

Went for a walk along the beech this morning. Well, I say walk but it was more of a stagger as we had trouble keeping our balance, the wind was so strong. Still on the plus side, we had the whole beech to ourselves for some reason.

Managed to walk around Tamar Lake this morning after several days of blustery wind and rain. Surprised at how many people were out and about on the lake, last gasp of the summer holiday perhaps.

Doesn't seem like the lockdown started 5 months ago !!

Now I am a person that likes to celebrate Christmas, even fine with it starting in November. My tree goes up at the beginning of December. That said, even I think thats taking the mickey.
