Another vote for Arrowroot biscuits and 'flat' coke

I guess Rich Tea and squash is similar so must be something in that. We don't drink coke so it's not something I would have in the house if incapacitated. Might add Arrowroot biscuits to the shopping list though for our small stack of emergency sickness foods. Not sure what they are but 2 votes mean they must be good :) Thanks

I think there's a special lesson in how to be obnoxious that they take..

I have to collect the stupid blood pressure machine tomorrow to take a weeks worth of home readings....stupid really as last time I had it they worked out that it made it higher by having it at home! Waste of time! Feel better soon @staffordjas
Ta littleme, was feeling ok before the phone call but when asked if I had this, that and the other symptons I then started thinking "Have I? "
After being on the same thyroxine dose for years , was a bit concerned when this new doctor ringing today asked if I wanted to reduce my dosage or not, especially as the tests were in the 'acceptable range' and I'm feeling ok :?: (or was before that call !)

Have been on 2 lots of blood pressure tablets after the doctor stopped believing that it was white coat syndrome, despite having numerous machines strapped to me over the years which proved that I was OK until I entered the doctors ..............
Cholesterol has more than halved since being on statins for a few months, but gave those test results a bit of a helping hand by cutting out the booze for several weeks beforehand on my diet (all so that I wouldn't get a b0llocking from the dishy doctor when I was supposed to see him........ )

Good luck with the blood pressure machine this coming week littleme. Is it one of those that you just put on to take the reading,or one that's worn 24 hrs a day and keeps suddenly pumping up at odd times and puts your blood pressure up even more when it suddenly jumps into action?

A couple of years ago, whilst having an ear hosed out, I was asked if I would have my blood pressure taken "just to keep our records up-to-date" - "Yeah, sure, no problem" - "When did you last have it done?" - "Never", I said - "What? How long have you been at this surgery then?" - "Since 1974" - no further response.....

I presume it was OK.

Finally on the up after a nasty stomach bug. No details required!!! but now that I'm feeling brave enough to eat I was wondering what people eat when they first start back on food after 3 days without?? In our family it's always been Rich Tea biscuits and hot squash. I know not why!! If that stays down, a few hours later one is allowed to progress to tinned Heinz Tomato Soup and dry bread. If all goes well with that then you are good to go with normal food. Anyone else's family have weird post illness foods?? :)
My mum swore by dry cream crackers and toast. Only drink allowed was tea. After she was satisfied you would keep all that lot down, then and only then, you were allowed a bit of bread and butter.

I would imagine the coke is because it was originally a pharmaceutical product, amongst other things it had pepsides in it hence the pepsi brand name. Arrowroot is good for calming the tummy, if you have some in the house for thickening sauces etc you can use a little of the powder with water to mix a little drink.
Sugary drinks give you a bit of a boost after losing nutrients.
My mum used to give me warm lemonade to drink and cinnamon on plain unbuttered toast.
Stay away from dairy for a few days.

I think its the one that you just put on to take the reading, although the last one at the drs was put on, took the reading, started letting down then automatically tightened again, then down again, then tightened.... I thought the stupid thing was going to have my arm off! I'm not having much luck with drs at the moment, on my last visit she asked how I felt & I frankly replied 'absolutely crap' to which I got an 'oh, ok then' & then when she said I needed statins I asked how they worked & she didn't know!
I think it must be my attitude !

The one who rang yesterday asked me "Are you having palpitations" , "Are you feeling normal" " "Have you lost weight" "Have you put on weight" "Are you feeling tired" "Are you feeling ok" "Are you sleeping ok" "Are you feeling calm or agitated"

Lay in bed all last night thinking -
Lost weight because I've been dieting
Put on weight because I've cracked on my diet
Lied about sleeping ok , should have asked her if she has something to stop hubby snoring all night
Lied about feeling normal - the bonking neighbours are driving me insane

Now feeling tired and like sh1te after lying there convincing myself I was having palpitations ......

Tell me more about these special pills @John Marwood !

Seems I'm not going anywhere now, middle son has kindly arranged for the BT engineer to come without telling me, & has buggered off to work leaving me to babysit BT man for 2 hours! I've had to cancel the appt :(

I went into W H Smith today, for the first time in two or three years, as a friend's layout is in the current Railway Modeller - http://www.uckfieldmrc.co.uk/exhib14/arignatown.html .

Anyway, I see that they have now Self Service checkouts as well - I avoided using it, as I don't want to have to learn another just for one item in a blue moon.
The machine always ask if you want a bar of chocolate. Don't they realise your using it to try and speed up the process.

Noticed the lift arriving earlier , when I moved here they had to replace the line as it was so old it was crumbling . because It was being setup for infinity fibre the line needed to be better quality.

... Was he having problems with voice calls or internet ?

I expect I would come last. Apparently we're to be upgraded by the end of the month, but I am not holding my breath.
