The Samsung looks more like a web cam, the resolution is not that good. The camera stoofer linked to would be a good alternative as it's self contained, power and memory storage card built in.

Yes I need to make sure that whatever I get does the job and is money well spent, I was planning to pop into maplin to get some further advice

I sat in traffic at 7:30 am .. got to work.. was dark, sat in an office with all the blinds closed because someone in there doesn't like light, finished work at 5 ... got in the car, was dark.. drove home took an hour and 5 mins, got stuck in traffic.. walked the cat (yes walked) in the dark and off to bed soon, to yet again wake up in the dark :scouse::bananafunk::toot:

Somethings gone wrong there ^ it links to @Floss67 s eye!

Eye eye thanks for that @littleme and everyone who offered advice, but after lots of research today and questions I've got someone coming to fit a couple of cameras that will give me mobile view too. Annoying thing is I know who the kids are by sight, I see them all the time but I just need the evidence before I can go banging on doors and down to the school. So far we've lost a bay window and a wing mirror both away from the road on a private drive and now several hundred for CCTV so it better be worth it. Annoying thing is there are no kids in our road apart from two toddlers but they keep coming round to our road to cause havoc.

Sitting here trying to decide if this piece of computer equipment I'm working on is just taking its time to update the firmware or if I have, in fact, turned it into an elaborate paperweight...

@Floss67 im sorry you're having all this trouble, hope you get it sorted soon and you put that little urchin in his place! Clearly he doesn't have an elf on the shelf!

Have a noisy but fun loving group of kids sleeping over, I planned to make marshmallow bats and ghosts but it seems iPads, Xbox and a dvd suffice.
One of them has just announced he NEVER sleeps, Ive told him that changes tonight!

Mmm, marshmallow bats might be "seasonal", but I suspect that ash or hickory ones would quieten them down much more effectively.

Does @perry081064 not have anything to say on this subject?

Oops.. Bit late to the party on this one.
I can only recommend the y cam ip camera.
Had mine a few years or more now and its been faultless.
Fully waterproof and has infra red lighting for night surveillance ( useless for viewing inside a window as the infra would effectively blind the view because of reflection.)
Records to hard drive and theres an app for viewing on your phone too.
Motion detection is included too.
Theres newer models out now that can even store to a cloud based server.

Bit more expensive than your supermarket cams but you get what you pay for when it comes to home security.

Thankyou Peggy, I recall a sleep over once where one of the lads staying didn't sleep and we we're awoken by him rooting through cupboards downstairs, we told him if he didn't go back to bed we'd put him in the middle of us..he said eeeew it would be like being between a couple of wrinkly slugs..... that was the first and last time he stayed.

Thanks perry this sounds very similar to what I've ordered, I wil be able to view it live from my phone and iPad and it will alert me when it picks anything up. I expect I'll see the postman most days but I will be able to set it on a timer for the time we seem to get the bother.

It's true, he doesn't sleep (at least not at night just in the morning) and he felt the need to keep the rest of the boys awake to keep him company! I'm about to reap revenge, have an early start so time to wake them.
I am the master of insomnia and have survived on snipets of sleep for years, he has met his match!
I would respectfully ask that forum members avoid the Brewster pub this morning until breakfast has finished unless they are comfortable with noisy, grumpy kids!
