Same here.... Mr Owen (?) wasn't fooled by my hopping across the little pool, around the back, on one leg pretending I was swimmingI only remember being shouted at.
@Apricot .... read your post about keeping one foot off the bottom after posting I did exactly that. I can still clearly remember those dreaded school swimming lessons to this day (and forging letters off my parents to the teacher , with excuses why I couldn't go swimming today. Not sure the teachers were actually fooled either )Me too - you were supposed to hold on to the side, float in the water and kick your legs. I was too scared to lift my feet off the bottom so I got told off for that.
I remember lying in bed at night thinking maybe I could keep one foot on the bottom, kick as much as I could with the other leg, and perhaps they wouldn't notice.
Maybe a less regimented approach to teaching would have worked better. Mr Apricot teaches the young apricots to swim by basically taking them to the pool and letting them play around. They get more confident and start to swim.
Fed up of having no EE signal at home this week. They've got engineers working on it, but latest status message ' We are aware there is a problem, but don't know when it will be fixed '
I'm at the Regent theatre in Hanley. Just having a glass of fizz before we take our seats.
