I've been a busy bee lately.

I've been over to Leicester quite a bit for the Leicester Comedy Festival helping to run a few of the shows which has been amazing fun.

The Festival in total is putting on over 800 comedy shows over 19 days.

Really really proud of my son who with his own company, JOKES ON US have put on over 100 shows.

Not bad considering he's booked the venues, booked the acts, got the brochures printed and he's only 22.

Ive seen some funny stuff and some amazingly funny people.

Put up some lights, some were broken, replaced them. Didn't have enough other lights, used different colour temperature lights, not happy with the result. Now have half a shop that to me looks like the little mermaid should swim past any minute! Ordered more lights.

On that note, what colour lights do people think a shop should use? To me, selling clothes, a daylight colour is best as it shows how they will look. Next door is a wood furniture place, they need warm white because that is what makes wood look best. Cool white reminds me of a dentist, yet my OH quite likes it? Anyone passing the old IGS place near the Sun please feel free to offer an opinion as I dunno anymore!

What do you have in the old place? If colours matter, daylight is best, I think.

Maybe have warm white in the window for night-time display?

I would go along with whatever the Boss says.....

I thought daylight, to me it's between the two and closest to what you'll see in real life. Warm is closer to what you'll see in a night time event though, cool is closer to what you'll see in a mortuary. I think I'm going to use daylight runners on a dimmer in the ceiling so she can alter the effect, and let her change the bulbs in the floor lights to suit what she sells at the time. Its actually more work to change what is currently in but I'm not happy with it. Also may remove the track lights and replace with recessed to give more room for hats.....

Current is daylight but some are leaning towards cool, been eying up other shops and none go too cool though, usually 6000k is the absolute max temperature but then white looks better under cool lights so....

That said we're not doing bridal anymore. I'll just do what I'm told til the floodgate opens!

Tomorrow we're having a new bed delivered, so tonight we made a hole in the ceiling. 20180222_194643.jpg

Cool is usually popular in modern aesthetic stores I find, while warmer whites are used in more traditional settings, so depends what you’ve done with the insides really. My wife finds if the lighting is too cold (Wickes has very cool lighting) it can give her a headache.

If you wanted to be showy you could always grab some smart bulbs for the fitting rooms and let people try it under different lighting conditions, but maybe that’s a bit OTT. ;)

Spent the day yesterday taking first Spawn2 to a hospital appointment at the Royal Orthopaedic in Birmingham. Sadly we are no further forward with her having her op, now we are waiting for a dermatology referral  Got back in time to accompany Eldest Spawn to her appointment at New Cross, that one went better. Reassured her that she's doing well and not overly anxious. I was in bed at 8pm lol

Lying in bed unable to sleep, decided to Google whether my right itchy hand meant I was supposed to be getting or spending money..
Accidentally clicked on a box which suddenly popped up ' Get Hooked up' :o

More wires, more lights, followed by a quick pint and a takeaway from thawa bridge. Now wide awake contemplating wiring diagrams in my head, despite today being mostly painting!
