BREAKING: Flashes due to a Chelsea Tractor going over a speed bump, throwing its headlights upwards.

There used to be a substation here, but it seems to have gone now. Transformer explosions are usually fairly yellow from the oil burn. Blue flashes are often just flashovers in air,

An arc would be a blue/green flash though, and relatively quiet.

Going to see Joe Lycett tonight at the gatehouse, before that though as tomorrow is my last day at work for this company, lunch today with colleagues.

Did anyone see a bright flash come from somewhere north of Kingston hill?

The wife was just out back having a smoke and there was an incredibly bright, momentary flash from beyond the houses north of us. Kind of like a transformer blowing or something she said, except we have power still.
Yes! Our house faces north & the houses opposite were lit up with a green light....very strange looking...

Per my addendum that sounds about right, not enough to the east of us to be the turf lighting surging or anything.

Mutterings on the Twitterverse seem to think it might be from the barracks. We’re thinking transformer as the blue/green would be the colour copper burns

Probably nothing to do with the green flash but Electricity helicopter was very busy here yesterday.

When trying to find out where on earth all my money had gone today, I found out that when you transfer your ISA from Halifax to another bank they send the funds in the post by cheque, which of course takes weeks to arrive. I don't think the lady on the end of the phone appreciated it when I suggested this was an archaic process.

You could, of course, send the money to me and I will look after it for a wee while less than the bank and then invest it for you. Happy to help :)

It's lost in the ether somewhere, so I couldn't even if I wanted to. Apparently they will backdate my interest, which is nice.

I know someone who was penalised for paying his Nat West mortgage late by means of a standing order from his Nat West current account - they claimed that they couldn't guarantee the arrival, but were unable to explain who had the money that had been removed from his account in the intervening time...

Nat West have just changed their process as so many were stung due to that. Our joint account is with them, and if the mortgage was due out on the Monday they'd reserve the funds on the Friday. Given that our transfers from our current accounts didn't go in the day before the mortgage date, I've often had the card declined when trying to buy something at the weekend, even though there was money in the account.

Put up some lights, some were broken, replaced them. Didn't have enough other lights, used different colour temperature lights, not happy with the result. Now have half a shop that to me looks like the little mermaid should swim past any minute! !

to be auctioned online tomorrow if its your size
