New hairdressers opening in Stafford, and new electrical shop

Its like the worst ever jumble sale in the world! Saying that, OH allways finds great things in there......& my bestest ever ever buy (fur lined Emu Wellies) came from TK maxx - I looked them up online last year when mine finally split.....they cost me £24.00 in TK Maxx...........but would of cost £160 anywhere else!!!

(I loved those Wellies) :(

And that's exactly the wonder of TK Maxx, the bargains. Granted it's not a shop to go in for a quick browse, but give yourself plenty of time, don't take kids and it's like a massive treasure hunt. Some of the stuff I've had from there over the years............man!!! Like I said, it's the only shop I frequent on a regular basis in Stafford.

Lol, worcester just like stafford. Watch out for the water in the town centre that have been going all year with a month break in the summer. It has caused uproar and has been an absolute mess with town centre roads shut completely, actually due to finish at the beginning of november but when do these things finish on time.

they also built a new shopping development at st martins that finished well overdue as at the beginning of this and been open almost a year only 50% of shops had been filled. 3 months ago had a 1.5% occupancy rate worse the stafford.

nice to know elsewhere has it problems also :)
I have a wander around Worcester while I've got a few hours to kill waiting for son to finish his lectures at uni when he comes home for a few days.Drop hubby off at work at 8am, jump on Jct14 and reach the uni car park nice and early (Except yesterdays nightmare journey, which took 2 & half hours!), I have a nice stroll in to town, glad I haven't got to sit in the road closures nightmare.Got a few more shops open than Stafford, although I usually spent most of my time buying hot pasties  .
Thought about Gramaisc's post when hearing about the mystery of 'House Worcester ' , a bar in the centre , suddenly shutting it's doors . Oops ;)...

I have seen @staffordjas out shopping.

As soon as Primark comes to Stafford, it's going to give TK MAXX's jumble sale a run for it's money. The clothes may be cheap but and cheerful and at times a good bargain, but I've yet to visit a Primark where the clothes are actually on their allocated display rather than the floor! :D

I've always been put off Primark by the ones in Brum and Torquay where the clothes were in ' jumble sale style' piles on the shelves and having to step over piles scattered on the floor. Only spent a few seconds in each of them and couldn't understand anyone wanting to shop in there.
So was pleasantly suprised when venturing into the one in Worcester ,where son had got some nice clothes at a bargain price. Nicely laid out with clothes sitting perfectly on the rails , and made me want to spend, spend, spend.

I agree, the one in Hanley is chaos, but Telford isnt as bad.....& being as I hate shopping, I tend to go first thing in the morning when no-ones had a chance to mess everything up.

Apart from shoes, ive never really found anything for myself there, but it is good for kids clothes & husband always finds loads....middle son wouldnt be seen dead in anything from Primark!

@staffordjas I wonder if this has anything to do with Pavers closing....

In other news, my spies tell me that
Stafford Department store is going to
become mostly a 99p store......

Please do not turn this into a "shops opening" megathread, as per the closure message on the previous one. If you have anything you would like to raise/discuss not related to the two shops mentioned in this thread title, please start a new thread.

Thanks. :)
