New McDonalds/Drive thru planned for the Hough Retail Park - not happy

Enjoying a drop of red.
If I worked for a local authority I think I would have lost the will to carry on by now
Don't be silly.

The satisfaction of making such a difference to the lives of us plebs would keep you going. Not to mention the ability to spend our taxes willy nilly, the endless back handers and the apparent ease with which you make us look like d*ckheads for putting up with it all year after year after year...

Osborne will take great delight in you and others comments

He single handedly diverted all negative attention from the cabinet to the councils - with a budget swipe

I don't see how Osborne can be held responsible for the monumental incompetence and corruption displayed by our Borough and County Coouncillors and their officers.

Personally I'm waiting for the main application to go in for the McDonald's and the Traffic section of Staffs County Council responding saying "no reason to object"....:(

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
There are already three fast food places on the Hough, one with a drive-through.

The traffic won't be using Ranshaw Drive to access the proposed McDonalds so will this really make that much of a difference to the residents?

Yes given that as various times during the day getting off that road onto Riverway is a problem.... The increase in traffic due to the Drive-thru will cause that road and roundabout to clog up more. Unless you expect the new unit to just attract pedestrians....

Ah yes of course I fully expect pedestrians to use the drive-through part...

I'm wondering just how much extra traffic it will create as there is already a drive-through on the development. Will people who use KFC just go to McDonalds instead? Will people who would have driven round the island to go to McDonalds on Stone Road just use the new one and not actually use the island?

I'm not getting the problem here to be honest, apart from the fact that it's sells junk shite food It's a retail park, it's an ugly retail park, I doubt having a Maccy D's is going to make it any worse...............neon sign or no neon sign

On Lichfield Road opposite the Hough. We normally get notified of any planning applications on the retail park.
Rikki, went to the notice today (see pic)...it appears the council are taking info on upto 11th December. The wife said when she spoke to the council they said that they were not obliged to notify local residents... (which I find odd)....

I know someone who worked in KFC until quite recently and they were told it is going to be in the wooded area behind Lloyds, also full restaurant and drive thru. Apparently going to be 24hour?!

Have a look ät the original attachments showing the current location in mind....24 hours seems crazy to me in that location.....

I don't think this will have any impact on traffic given we already have two McDonald's in Stafford. If anything and you really had to have McDonald's and lived this side it would save a journey into or across town to get one. I would have preferred something else to add a little variety but I guess it's better than nothing.
