Oh bugger No!! The first one will be a success and the world will
want to copy the formula...it will be cup cake shops all over again

Come see us at The Market Vaults for exactly that. It'd be great for pubs to go back to what they used to be. pre-tv era where people actually had to talk to each other and god forbid - socialise.
Visit chorlton cum hardy lots of small bars and craft ales.I believe our very own @Goldilox is on the same bill as the Wurzels at Aspafest 2015
Back to the subjects of micropubs, we spotted on in Tamworth and it looked very cosy indeed

Lovely place. I have friends who live there and they regularly have great local market days.I used to live in Chorlton Cum Hardy. Great place and continually improving.
It's a cracking little place.Spent a very cosy, pleasant hour in the micro pub in Gnosall. Looking forward to my next visit.
It has a proper pub feel about it. No blaring music, gamblers, pool table. Just happy folk stood chatting. I'd be more than happy to pop in on my own without feeling uncomfortable. It's a cracking little place.
If you do hold a copy of The Times under your left arm and wear a pink carnation. I'll say hello.

I like your post but I do have to pull you up on the' lager rubbish'. There are a number of decent lagers coming out of micro breweries these days. They're not all akin to the remnants of a two week unemptied chamber pot. Our very own Freedom do great lagers, Brooklyn lager is lovely, Camden Pils is great too, and there's hundreds more. I'm more of an AIPA myself, but I would be more than happy to do battle with the ones I've listed and others. The Whippet in Lichfield is superb. All it sells is real ale and cider. No lager rubbish. The formula is simple, small premises so low overheads, no being tied to a pubco or brewery, no walls full of tellies and fruit machines. Good luck to them.
I seem to recall suggesting something like this ( micro bar ) not long after being committed to the Forum in 2009
Although I can't find it so it may have been another weird dream
