I noticed a hairdressers has opend up at the end of Friars Terrace, just before Friars Road. There's not a lot of passing trade I wouldn't have thought.
Yes Sharikas (or similar name). I don't see it lasting long where it is, as there are no other businesses down that end apart from Merry Maids and the other hairdressers.
They could always rent a part of the Bear & Pheasant bar during the day. Heard of a barbers out North Staffs way doing similar, cheap premises and a bit of extra daytime business for the pub.
Symbiosis rocks!

Unfortunately the 'cutting area' and bar have to remain seperated, ie you cant swig ya lager as you get your short back and sides..

The place I think you refer to is in Wolstanton, castleduck

But deffo agree that sharing premises, costs, staff, bodily fluids is the waytogo

good point...

There is now a 'Craft Shop' on the Wolverhampton Road, near the Tattoo Parlour. I haven't had a chance for an internal inspection yet..

I think that it was the shop with the To Let sign here.

I also noticed a PC repair shop opposite the Indian Grocers and Jet Garage (on the road I can never remember the name of)

I have slightly amended the thread title so that important information such as this doesn't pass people by. :)

Gaol Road to the point where it meets the Four Crosses junction, I think. Incidentally, if you have an accident at that junction, you can block-up the whole of the north end of Stafford REALLY quickly. Happened to me when I was 17.

(Edit, before anyone suggests otherwise, I should clarify that the kind of accident I meant was an RTA. I am not capable of any other kind of accident on a scale which would block part of the town.)

That shop has been several different computer shops over the years - usually separated in time by several different craft shops. The remains of one of the previous signs is visible in the StreetView picture.

The 'Jet' has been a 'Murco' for several years, although I still think of it as the 'Texaco'...

The Indian Shop, which I have incorrectly stated elsewhere is becoming an Afro-Caribbean shop, actually has "Asian and Careebian" [sic] on the window, I think.

I should have mentioned this before, but we now have a new café/florist's shop - in the grounds of the Crematorium - perhaps not ideal for a Xmas do, but it could be useful to quite a few people.

-There's shop fitters in the shop that used to be Misters, before Misters moved - No clue yet as to what it might be.

We've also spotted a new print / design shop in The Reynolds Centre - the small unit next the the Martial Arts thingy
