New shops / businesses opening in Stafford

Almost 8 percent of ground floor premises are vacant in stafford, that is not alot considering the small size of most. National average is 12 percent as of feb this year

Misters is not going and word is neither is halpin ( listening to what others say). Unlike works there is nothing to suggest otherwise yet bar rumour

Misters IS closing - signage is all over the window. It reads - We are closing down everything must go!

Halpins have informed staff, they are shutting the shop to concentrate on their very successful internet business.

Oh and I forgot to mention Staffords best music shop has gone. Guitar and Son.

Posters that were once in the window of the Paper House, but have since fallen down onto the floor, proclaim branch of CEX is due to open in Stafford. it wasn't clear if it was due to go into that building or somewhere else. No mention of it yet on the CEX website.

I'm guessing it's minimum wage - why would you expect it to be anything else, at least we live somewhere that has a minimum wage.

Very few retail jobs pay more than minimum wage, the only people you are allowed to pay less are apprentices.

Is something happening at the old KFC, I noticed earlier that chaining has now appeared all around the car park...is this just to stop people parking there? & if so, why now after all these years?

The chaining has been in place for quite a while now. I think people were parking there and going to their places of work (Have noticed people doing that on the Virgin/McDonalds car park too).

The new shop in the old Trendeez shop is called Fine Things and sells cards and gifts. Looks like a nice shop.

I noticed walking up Wolvehampton Rd earlier there's a suspicious* 'Cambridge' diet shop where studio crafts once was and what looks like a army / navy store where the short lived white goods / joda shop was.

*I'm pretty sure it's all a pyramid scam / fad diet but that's just me

The old maximum health shop on Mill Street is going to be an e-cig shop. There is a pop up boutique opening in the guildhall and there is a new fashion shop opening but not sure where called Blue Inc fashion.
