New Years Eve plans anyone? (2012)

Does anyone know of anything happening for New Years Eve 2012?

I haven't seen much advertised, what does everyone else have planned?

I know there's stuff happening at the Post House, but that doesn't seem very me.

thankfully, some friends have invited us round theirs, otherwise we'd probably end up in the railway counting down the minutes until we were allowed to go home.. NYE has become more and more of a pain in the arse for me in recent years - i feel obliged to do something, but now i'm old and boring (33 lol) there's nothing i want to do..

so, we've got a quiet evening of board games ("does he have glasses? does have have a hat? it's got to be jack!" :keke:) and buffet planned.. food on sticks tastes better: fact

No plans what so ever, it's my 49th birthday that day, so I shall be staying at home and being very boring. Let everyone else go out and enjoy themselves. :)

Son is going to a party and sleep over at his mates house, so we'll be spending the night worrying and staying sober incase the phone goes.

We invited a single friend over if he got lonely at some point, he's picked New Years eve to come over and says he's bringing someone so for the first time ever it looks like i'm hosting a New Year party  Rather unexpected lol Hopefully this year non of my neighbours will blow themselves up so i won't be spending the countdown in the street waiting for an ambulance.

According to their facebook page The Sun has sold out on NYE but the Stafford Ale house was advertising a band and buffet.Sounds like a posh do at The Swan and good for them as it is good to have a place to get dressed up for. Also the Post house are selling tickets for £10.
Now I can understand places selling tickets to have a good idea of how many are going and to cover the cost of entertainment etc, i do feel being in one place all night can be a bit restrictive. Personally, we'll be having a couple of drinks early on and then taking a chinese back for the family

I have 2 older sons, age 18 and 20, can't count the nights spent worrying about their partying shenanigans! Guess it will be even worse when 7yr old daughter hits her teenage years :(
Best you can do with teenage son is to make sure he's got a fully charged mobile, with credit on, for just incase, and you could always ring him at midnight to wish him happy new year (to determine if all sounds ok) ;)

He's very good at turning his phone off as ' The battery was flat". Think I might have to go for a few late night walks in the area :ninja: ;)

Cancel his credit, see how long he's willing to spend without!
Ahh, teenage son has thwarted me there, he's just taken out his own contract on a new phone and got rid of his PAYG :( Even more scary is the fact that the phone cost more than his car!
