I just took a look around a few office suites.

It's weird being back on your old campus. The union has been gutted and is a giant empty space. But from what the agent described it sounds like it could be a really good business "village" in the future.

I like the idea there might one day be an exciting start-up in my old office

Where was your office? Ruxton is turning into a college-type thing I believe. Most of what I looked at was ground floor C/D-block (the Union area, an office opposite the old shop, and the enabling centre) as there weren't that many suites that were 1000+sqft

2nd floor Beacon, C21 something, it's funny how quickly you forget

I think the upper floors are going to be New Beacon Group offices rather than let offices. Granted, I know they're also quite small so it's entirely likely they simply didn't bother mentioning them to me.

The startup incubator is the 1st (i.e. bridge level) floor of the Octagon.

Yeah - the upper floors of Beacon need a lot more refurbishment and attention then the bits they've been showing you - I wouldn't show them to anyone either.

I've wandered the halls in the past, even during 2016 they felt like a different building to the ground floor.

It's still very much a work in progress I think, they're not ready to have tenants just yet. I was the first one in the door to even have a look.

Is this still progressing ? September has come and gone, and there's still been no influx of new students ?

I was talking to them about business space earlier this year. Nobody there really knows what's going on according to sources. They've all been hired but the folk up top don't really have a plan in place. Not sure if they've even let out the space properly yet. I know they wanted to let to IT-related companies primarily but then when I wanted to talk internet they couldn't give me any form of answer other than "we'll talk about it when solicitors are involved" at which point I walked away.

The college has been delayed until 2019. The incubator? No idea.
