doug owen the brine baths teacher or may have been the life guard?
No bath at home so every friday down to the public baths to soak in a tub twice the size of nowadays, hire a towel and get a small bar of white soap and boiling hot water two foot deep, so that you could lie back and float in it, change into clean clothes and to finish off, a dab of brillcream from the penny dispenser on the wall, all ready for the first pint of the night at the baths hotel.
