REPLY:

Dear ... (1JKz!)

The TPOs are still in place. Our Tree Officer, Craig Watkins, visited the site yesterday and has written to the developer to advise on tree protection measures. Unfortunately, as he is our only tree officer, we do not have the resources to accommodate daily/weekly inspections, but Mr Watkins will investigate if you wish to report any specific occurrences .

I noticed the trees around the work at the top of Marston Road are protected, they have fences around them with signs on saying keep the fook out, this is tree territory! Shame not all builders are so commited, although they did cut down a massive one to start the works that I guess wasn't protected.

Unfortunately, nothing can stop a dim-witted out-a-towner contractor (under contract via developers) felling trees.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, i predict 40% of the trees you see on that site will be gone shortly.

...ere's to the o'police HQ development*

Reply from John Francis, though from a Sue Francis' email

Hi

Sorry for the late reply, your mail was on another system for some reason. Yes the trees still have TPO's on them.
I agree we need to keep a close watch on the site, I agree with you as we both know how these (accidents) happen.
If you see anything going on please call me on 07710233222.

Best Regards
John

Waitrose to replace either Asda or Tescos, would be fine by me.

...controversial!

A park (plain and simple) with masses of trees and green areas (bowls, small allotments) on the old police HQ would be my vote.

So it's either a park for the benefit of the people or a profit, I mean housing / commercial development for the benefit of .............. (insert as appropriate).

Let me guess which one it will be then.

Caramac? Really? Do people really eat that stuff? Best build a Caramac factory on the land then!

More houses? For all the people that are going to live here once the University & Hospital are gone?

Park would be great. Better than 100 shoebox 3 storey town houses build on a maze of roads (see old BRC site for example of a road maze).

BRC site is terrible, such a shame the folk who live there have to deal with that, i wonder if you'd struggle to sell your house at the moment with the 'on-going' work there.

A repeat of that estate on the old police HQ it is then!?

Doesn't it flood too?
Not sure about flooding on the roads.

But I remember hearing a work colleague who went to look at a house there. Him and his wife were sitting in the sales office and opposite was a huge sign one of the residents had put on their house listing the problems with "Don't buy" on it.

Being a former industrial site the ground is polluted and as a result they often put a barrier layer down (clay?) which results in a very boggy garden.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I doubt it otherwise the Police Commissioner would have been in the paper saying how well they did to get 2 shillings and sixpence for the land.
