For all those who desire for this land to be a green park, I presume you are all happy for council tax etc. to be increased substantially to pay for it?

Not only the loss of the initial lump sum payment, but the ongoing maintenance costs of such a large space?
Substantially?
Can you give me your idea of the on going maintenance costs you think this would bring a Stafford council tax payer and also, what increase to the council tax that would make?

The mind boggles. If it supposedly costs us a million squid a year to keep looking like shit, I'd bet they could waste at least 5 times that making it look merely scruffy.

Is this you answering on behalf of highguy?

Though proac, are you suggesting it'd cost £5,000,000 per annum, for this area to become and stay a nature reserve?

I'm going to merrily beg to differ.

I wonder if Mr P is merely astonished the 'we' can pay that much of our money simply to exclude us from the empty and abandoned site - and how efficiently it might be financed should it become a truly public asset in the form of a park - I could be wrong.
