It's a prerequisite apparently. I know several teachers who reckon they don't like children.
In a previous life I was related to a teacher who took further qualifications and went into 'remedial teaching' I think it was called at the time. Or "thickos" as she put it, she didn't like them anyway.

I find it strange how you would be able to do a job well and get results if you don't like children, every child is different and some may need more intervention than others which involves giving a lot of your own time. Agree they p*** you off some days, but even your own kids can do that, but it doesn't mean you don't like them. Each to their own I suppose.

I agree with what you have posted. A few years ago I used to be a classroom assistant and I did find some of the children a bit annoying but some were adorable and was tempted to have at least 6 of my own .... I didn't btw :)
