And Gramaisc... welcome to basils frame :-D
I have been trying to dodge such an association. I rather hoped that i was introducing an element of contrast. Normally, I just try to filter it out.

I hope that I don't come across as being negative.
Or a little underdeveloped.......
I wonder if there might be any reciprocity if should I enquire about any touching-up being possible?.

I've had to have them done 3 times in the last 12 months and each time went to Peter Rogers and they've been great, I think the cost was £8 and the quality is perfect.

There is one in the guild hall, I had mine done in Peter rogers a couple of years ago as I thought a professional pic would be better than a booth. I wasn't very happy with the Peter Rodgers photo but they wouldn't take it again, as they said it was adequate for the purpose! I've not been so unhappy with a passport pic before but was desperate at the time and i went to the post office for another in a booth but the one in WHSmith was broken at the time, i'm stuck with it for 10 years. I thought you'd get something better at the photographers, I won't be using them again. I think there is also a machine at the train station too! I've taken note of where the booths are since then.

ASDA and Tesco both have booths at the far end of the checkouts as you enter via main entrance.

There's one in Stafford Station, in Tesco by the far exit (not main) sure there is one most supermarkets actually. I think WH Smiths do one too.

I'd have one in a photography shop though. Had my old passport photo done in a Kiosk.... I look.. errr... well my dad said I look like a muslim :| It's not overly accurate, makes me look darker skinned, darker haired and makes my eyes look as dark as my hair! (They're bright grey!) Plus you can have them re-taken.

The current form of Irish passport has a special feature where the photo is replicated, in a pixelated form, by drilling holes of varying diameter through the page - as shown by what looks like the slight brown stain just to the right of centre in the example below -
passport4.jpg

It only really shows up if you hold it up to the light and looks kinda spooky then.

That is not my passport, before you try to sell the details to Mossad..

Hello from Peter Rogers Photographic. I am so sorry that you were unhappy with the passport photo we did for you a couple of years ago. However I fear there may have been a misunderstanding as we always show our customers the digitised image to see if they are happy before we print it for them. Obviously to take the picture again is so simple - and we can keep on doing so until the customer is utterly satisfied with their photo. I cannot understand why in this instance this did not happen and I can only apologise.

I was just going to say, we always use yourselves and on every occasion we have been asked to confirm we were happy with the picture before you printed it for passports...

Hi, Peter rogers photographic, thanks for responding. I was shown the digital shots a couple were taken at the same time I liked neither and would have really liked another one taken after I'd seen them before the printing, I said I didn't like them and was told it was suitable and adequate for the purpose which it evidentaly was. But I felt was expected to accept it and was not offered another take. Maybe the lad was having a bad day but I'll know to be assertive next time.

In a booth you can see what your going to get, I found at yours I couldn't do this. My pic makes me look extremely stern and and I'd of preferred it if this wasn't the case, a second take after seeing what you look like on the first shot would have been a better option as you'd know how your coming over when your trying to put on your sensible face.
