Pat on the back for this forum...

If anyone has been reading the decline of british christianity thread in general chat (sorry i dont yet know how to link to the thread yet) you will of noticed some of us are at very different ends of the scale on this subject, and pretty much i was in the minority but i have to say how great it was to be able to discuss and express my views and have others so openly disagree with valid arguments and not resort to personal abuse. Its a refreashing change to of been able to step into such a debate and be treated with respect and on top of that one of the biggest opposers to my point of view was shoes, but dispite that when i posted a plea for help he was the first to offer advice so point for shoes but also a big pat on the back to all forumites for being so respectful of different views and so helpful

ill be the first to admit that i dont agree with all shoes opinions too...but just coz hes wrong doesnt make him a good egg and general all round decent guy. ;)

i think that stands for everybody here, perhaps its because so many of us know each other in real life- there isnt the need for the laptop warrior- basically if we didnt have the discussions on here, wed be having it in person in the pub :)

but that still ist going to tempt me into the big discussion threads, its the gentle inane conversations which satisfy my skiving needs amply!

Thanks!

I don't think anyone holds personal grudges here against anyone, it's a forum for ideas and opinions after all and I think it's generally accepted that not everyone will agree on any issue, it shouldn't affect us being friendly to one another!

Excellent post djstaffs and I couldn't agree more. Many of the internet's forum's are full of people turning heated debates into full on riots with slanderous comments that are totally un-called for. It is for the reason of respect on here that I love Stafford Forum so much.

I once made my comments about the differences between dogs being aloud to roam free and cats which could have been taken offensively, but instead it was viewed & respected as my opinion.

Some Staffordians are quite arrogant and disrespectful, whereas most are great people. But I think that Stafford Forum has the best of the best as it's members. There isn't much more than a handful of us who regularly post and take part in discussions on here, but there is a good mutual understanding of respect that makes it worth taking part... plus the fact that occassional p**s taking is accepted too! ;)

 to the forum! :stafford:

Thank you for this post, djstaffs, it's great to get some feedback as positive as this. :)

I often wonder if onlookers think Stafford Forum has any particular bias, purely because some of the more regular users are not scared of making their views known, and I am always wary of this and do everything I can to reinforce the notion that The Forum is completely neutral ground. Comments like this certainly help to set my mind at ease in that respect!

I think you'll fine nobody here holds grudges, or rather none that go across threads. There are loads of examples in the past of people arguing like hell in one thread, then helping each other in the next. Lunar Scorpion is a good example, she got a few bashings but it didn't stop anyone helping out where possible in other posts. I'd like to say its because we're general all round good eggs, but in my case its because I couldn't remember the argument unless I was in the right thread anyway ;)

Well we also live in a society where you only ever hear about things when you've something wrong and balls up big time so i like to give praise as and when i can. So really all i wanted to say was what a great place staffordforum.com is and so is Stafford for that matter (speaking as a brummie who choose to live here as opposed to many other places)

I've dubbed it county town (or kinety tine) syndrome. But agree that the majority are not of this ilk.

Despite not agreeing with most of you on most points you can all rest assured that if you were burning in the street I would happily urinate until the flames were doused :teef:

I less than three you forumites!!!

The coalman was known to deposit his load in the back passage! Just to clarify, as a fellow forumite is giving me strange looks,(I'm sure most of you know this anyway) but a kind slice is north staffordshire for a council house.
