I don't expect this thread to last, but I want to raise a couple of points.
This pizza place is close to where I live, and the pizzas are okay, better than Domino's in my opinion.
However, they have a couple of nasty habbits. First of all, they have a number of different deals and offers, the best being Any Pizza, Any Size for £8.99, and also Any Pizza, Any Size, Buy One Get One Free. However, unless you are VERY explicit about which offer you want to use when ordering, they seem to find the most expensive route and charge you for that.
Tonight I rang up and asked if they were still running their £8.99 offer, which they were. After placing my order the bloke on the phone read it back to me and then quoted for £9. I thought it odd, but thought it slip of the tongue. When I collected and paid in person, the bloke again asked me for £9. I pointed at the offer and said "Isn't it £8.99?" to which the chap replied "Well, yeah, £8.99 or £9."
Now, admittedly this is only a penny, but it really bothered me. It came across as calculated, and casting my mind back I recall that this is not the first time it's happened. I can now remember the £9 business happening before, and me ignoring it or forgetting it.
As I type this out at 3 a.m. I realise that I sound like a crazy person. But that penny is my money.
