I have some old crash reports somewhere, one of which covers a late '60s incident in Wales involving some Royal Jordanian Air Force Hunters "attacking" a hillside gun-pit. There was a camera in the gun-pit, recording their efforts, and a radio communication relaying their results to them. The initial "attacks" involved pilots pulling up much too early, being rather intimidated by the remaining hill-side above the gun-pit. They were advised to pull up as late as possible, by the radio operator, as this would expose the aircraft to less risk of being hit by the resultant "unsuppressed gunfire" from the pit. The "attacks" were being recorded by a cine-camera operated by a second chap.

On the last run of the day, as their efforts had got steadily better, the final pilot decided to pull up the latest and be the Golden Boy of the trials. Unfortunately, he rather overdid it and took the top two rows of sandbags off the gun-pit, showering the two blokes with sand, although doing little real damage to the plane.
I remember the camera operators evidence at the enquiry - "At this point, I have to admit that I failed to observe the actual collision, as I was lying face-down in the bottom of the pit".

The film in the camera survived, apparently.
