Then shortly afterwards a few time exposures in the port.

We had lunch at the place where the closing scenes were apparently filmed. Now the Hippy Fish restaurant. Amazeballs.

Cambrian Rally 2015
by Mike Hillman, on Flickr

Camera and Lens - Canon EOS 70D, EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM @ 105mm (Handheld, IS On)
Settings - 1/500, f/4.5 and ISO 12800 (Manual Mode)
Location - Cambrian Rally SS2 (Llyn Elsi), North Wales

Made the trip over to Wales for the Cambrian Rally last Saturday - my first visit to an event :)

Car 65, one of many Ford Escorts on the event, heads through the 5 left into 5 right on the run down into the last hairpin before the flying finish - there were a fair few cars with punctures at this point, but this one has made it through with no issues.

Inexperienced at shooting high speed subjects, so most of the photos I took were a bit rubbish - this one worked OK though, and I learnt a lot from it. It was also pretty dull in the forests, so I had to push the ISO all the way up to maximum, so I've used Lightroom to run some noise reduction.

I ended up picking the cars up as they approached my location, and panned round with them taking a burst of shots as they passed - in most cases this gave time for the autofocus in servo mode to lock on.

Nice shot, It's not easy shooting moving targets. I have some pics from back in the RAC rally days, just the easy Sunday stages at Weston and Sutton park. They are all on film though, I will have to go dig them out and transfer some to digital.

Thanks :D

It's very tricky - first time I've tried it! I was definitely getting better towards the end though, so hopefully next time I'll be a bit more successful - I'll make use of a long telephoto prime and a monopod as well next time I think (chap standing next to me was getting some good results using that setup)

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
I've used it to attach a GoPro to the window and it worked pretty well, I'm just a bit worried about the weight - my 70D is quite a bit heavier, and I'm a bit worried about it falling off and getting damaged

Might give it a try, possibly with a cushion underneath just in case!

Seems odd not to have reviewed the footage during the visit...
I've never reviewed what I've taken on my Go-Pro while I've been on holiday, and I'm not sure why.

I suspect it's because while I can set up a wi-fi link between my tablet and the Go-Pro, I've never been able to upload data from the latter to the former. The wi-fi link is handy to have so you can see what you're shooting when filming from a static position, but it's not really practical to have your tablet with you when you're moving around.
