Not only has a great venue closed but yet another customer of The Brand Warehouse gone.
Ah, the uniforms were yours? I remember being told that they were 'locally sourced'...
We produced one set of uniforms for them..don't know if they had any others as some of the pubs and clubs uniforms are provided by the breweries.

Hi, The place next to St Chads church is really nice and the panninis they serve are excellent. I always enjoy my visits there. On the occasions that I have been there I have found it too be really busy or very quiet, but nothing in between. I have to admit that I have never been to the Bankhouse but it does look like a nice venue so I will give it a try.

lack of communication may have translated to a lack of interest, we will never know...

As I do work for Trip Advisor they made me aware that 'The Pie & Ale' , in my destination, had been really slated by someone on the Trip Advisor Review site .I was asked if I could check it out as it seemed like someone was holding a grudge, and they could remove it if desired.
I contacted the owners but they weren't really interested ..........Not a good idea to have bad reviews when you could do something about it!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just looked a TripAdvisor, for the first time. I looked at a hotel that I know well and somebody even claims to have been up all night killing the cockroaches that invaded his room. I suspect that a good bit of the 'reporting' is malicious - but, who knows...

I've seen enough dodgy reviews not to bother with the site unfortunately. I remember once seeing a few glowing reviews of a place and then one that slated it to hell and recommended another place just down the road. That place was a dump, and I'm sure its owners placed the bad review.

I'll try most places once, if it's a complete hole then that once is all they'll see me. Only fair to give them a go though, as long as they are clean and tidy.

As far as I know none of the Trip Advisor reviews are verified. Their angle is that if someone slags your establishment off, you comment back and put the record straight

Have another look - check-out the reviews for Weston Hall. It's real behind-closed-fingers reading. My favourites included stories of the manager who made the bride cry, the guest who booked bed and breakfast to find that the breakfast part was off because "the chef is still in his pit" and the diners who paid a huge sum for their meal which was completed by what were clearly Mr Kipling slices. Wonderful stuff.

If every person who has made a comment either good or bad had continued to visit the pub then it may still be open now. It is a first class venue especially for functions upstairs and the staff would be really upset to read some of the comments that have been written as they did care more that you obviously realise but could only do their best with what they had.
I think as others have said if you go back and read what most people have said any criticism of how things ended up at the Pie and Ale was labelled at an apparent drop in food quality and lack of ale choice. I don't remember anyone having a pop at the staff or service - from my own experience the staff were always top notch, as I said I liked it because it was child friendly.

I have picked out this bit of your post as perhaps this gives us a real insight as to what was going on. You seem to be suggesting (or perhaps expecting) people carry on visiting the P & A, even if they have had a bad experience (you said yourself you accepted that standards had dropped)....I find this bizarre to say the least. As I say I liked the service and the child friendly aspects of the place but on my last visit a month or so before it closed the food was terrible and there was no local ale. I'll support local businesses up to a point but I'm afraid I don't have enough spare money to chuck it away on food and drink I don't enjoy.

I know some of the last staff to work there and know they were always polite and good at their jobs. The food however did nosedive in my opinion, there was always about half the menu if you were lucky, im sure some of you were lucky, but to be fair it could have done with being half the size to survive. Upstairs always seemed empty and uninviting to me. But then I was used to being tipsy whilst listening to rock music in there before! :D

If anybody wants any mementos, then there is a liquidation sale on the premises on Tuesday, February 21st.

I'm not sure whether to have the seventy plates, and stretch out the washing-up cycle, or just go straight for the 25kg of gravy?

Catalogue.

Wow, how do you find out about this shizzle...
Not the greatest of espionage coups, I just read the poster on the building.

I wondered if somebody might be interested in the projector?

Make 'em an offer? There's quite a few mistakes in the list - an omission isn't impossible..

It will be interesting to see what is left from the list as I was told on Thursday that one of the owners was in there and clearing the place out of as much as possible
