Death knell for council offices

Not an entirely appropriate headline in the Post for the proposed change of use?

Old men love these 'retirement villages' as they're usually outnumbered by females so getting a legover is as easy as falling off a horse.......

This is the old Riverway School that will be demolished and replaced with a new development. I can see yet more reminiscing among the seniors in the town. I know my late great Mum who went there would have had a view on it.

I was telling my son only last night , how before the schools became comprehensives , the school at the top of Westway was the Girls High School and also there was the Riverway Girls Secondary School. Then there was the Grammar school and the school down Fairway (Was it Kingston Boys School????? ) for the boys. Whenever I walk past now,I still remember the kids playing in the playgrounds of Riverway & Fairway as I walked to town at lunchtimes from MRI.

Yes, that's right. My Brother went to Kingston, then the system changed when I was going through my school years and I went through Doxey Primary, Chetwynd Middle and King Edward High.
The Riverway block is, I believe, anothee council building at the moment and would guess its another department due to be moved into the new Tipping St block. Although I have heard the building is already over capacity and the Council will have to look elsewhere to accommodate folks!!! Big Plan, Big Society, Big Cock Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
