Not exactly related, but not worth its own thread, I'd been wondering when they'd get around to doing up the old kids home, or whatever it was on the stone road. It had been boarded up for months, then the boards came down again last week. Then the bulldozers came too, there is about 1/4 of it left this morning.

Apparently planning permission for its final use is awaiting a report on flood potential as it is close to the ancient Kings Pool Meadow. The floor is about 3 feet above Eastgate street but the finished below ground part is to be a car park. Once planning permission is granted, say 13 weeks, due to the massive amount of work in the office, new windows can then be fitted.
