I don't think that's the Stafford development. There are no shopping trolleys in the river.

That's the old bridge design. The bridge had to be redesigned for some reason. The new bridge includes no cables and is one installed last week.

The cable-stayed one did look rather swish and modern - we might as well have had the old Bailey bridge back, if we're just going to have a lattice-arch thing, at least it would have had some local heritage value.

The buildings are not complete yet. Cladding and brick detailing still to be added.

We noticed it yesterday to....it looked like meccano to me, but it did look better than the old bridge...

Well that does not add up taking workers from Riverside as Morrisons is currently 3-4 months ahead of schedule and alwasy has been ahead of its self

I'm interested to see if the pavement is reinstated from the new bidge along towards Asda and then alongside Queensway up towards Eastgate Street. If it is, it's not going to be nice and wide like the previous path judging by my quick glance as I cycled past the other day :/

They are unless plans were changed. If memory serves the path that along side the dual carriageway is the same width it has just moved across slightly and the embankment has gone.

With the bridge the planning department had developers go back and redesign the bridge because bridge was too small to be held up by cables, something to do with height even though it got past first time round.

Is it beautiful, maybe not but a massive improvement on what is there.

p.s the works round by the SBC entrance have smartened up the area
