Any update on the cinema? I find the planning website impossible you navigate so hoping someone here will have suffered through it on my behalf!

SHOPPERS flocked to Stafford's new Riverside centre over the Christmas period, figures reveal.

The £70m shopping centre opened in August, with shops such as Marks & Spencer and H&M launching at the site.

Primark opened in October.According to data from Stafford Borough Council, a total of 77,000 visitors used the Waterfront and Riverside car parks in December, compared to 58,000 in September.

In the 10 days running up to Christmas Eve there were 29,000 visitors compared to 27,000 during the same 10 days in November. And between December 14 and 24 there were 19,000 daily parking tickets bought at both car parks, compared to 13,000 during the same period in November.

Meanwhile, the planned cinema at Riverside and Bridge Street is to start soon following an amended planning application which could see a former newspaper office being bulldozed.

LXB Retail already had permission from the borough council to create an Odeon cinema where the Chicago Rock Cafe used to be.

Previous plans included only a partial demolition of the office at the site, but the amended plan submitted in December, would see the whole building flattened to offer an improved entrance to the cinema and walkway to the car park. The application is to be considered soon.

800 seems a lot of seats to me, though I speak as somebody who hasn't been in a cinema this century and probably no more than twenty times in the last century.

oh #horseshitballs

Look at the state of it, state of the art no doubt, but look at the state of it!?

Looks better than showcase, festival v
park, vue newcastle and cineworld stoke and the one in Uttoxeter.

Looks alright, it is not offensive to me anyway it is not like one would expect it to be timber framed and a improvement on what was there.
