traffic lights... too many of them!
cycle paths, because people don't use them anyway!!
shitty road works, like the one on rising brook.. where the bus stop is within the lane they now make cars drive in because of a stupid people crossing no1 ever uses which floods when its raining!!
chavs ..
people who steal your car park space!! we have structure, stop going in my place.

Cycle paths? The ones designed properly are well used, the disused railway line, any path where vehicles can't go so are safe, all well used. Painted lines on a road that cars can park across and juggernaughts drive in to.............yeah, they are pointless!!

Stafford truly is a desert when it comes to cycle paths isn't it :(. The only decent ones are the National cycleways 5 and 55 on the map. Huge swathes of the town have no cycling facility whatsoever. Imagine if every road was built wihtout a pedestrian footpath, and the little provision that was given to pedestrians as a token attempt, say 100 yards of footpath alongside a dual carriageway that just stopped and disappeared for no reason (think the cyclepath alongside Currys/PC world). No one would put up with that, yet cyclists are expected to.

Its fun attempting to navigate the roundabout at the north of town, going from foregate street to chell road, on a pushbike. The cycle path runs out on the other side of the road before that bit anyway, it ends in a dropped kerb into oncoming traffic!

A lot of the "cycle provision" is just a pretence. It would possibly be better if they didn't bother at all.

The one up Marston Lane consists of a few signs on the verge of the road, which contribute nothing other than a slight increase in the obstacles that you might hit when forced off by a motor vehicle.

We tried to use cycle lanes to travel to Wales the one year, most were just signposts on normal roads certainly very few gave you an actual cycle path.

This is my home turf, and I refuse to do the drop down in to oncoming traffic, as any sane person would, so I just carry on towards the pedestrian crossing and then join up with the 15 yeards of cycle path by the old New Look. The designer of these paths is clearly has a some sort of cognitive issue whereby they think cyclists can just vaporise themselves at regular intervals!

My 101's
....
Dog owners who don't have their dogs 100% under control when off the lead
...

That is every single dog owner in the entire world then.

No one can ever have 100% control of their dog when the dog is not attached to a lead. It's impossible whatever anyone may say about their dog being well trained.

So don't let it off in public then :).

edit, I maybe need to add 'in public' to my sentence about not letting dogs off, but my point still stands! On private land then it's all good to do what your dog likes!!

My dogs are very rarely off lead. If they are, we are usually out when there is the minimum number of people about.

And I'm sure you do your best not to let then harrass people. but clearly everybody doesn't. I've been chased while on a bike by off lead dogs with serious intentions of biting me. I have had 2 off elad Staffies attack my leashed dog while walking her alongside my buggy (terrifying), I've had an off lead Staffy attack my leashed dog while the lady wandered along using a phone, I've had little off lead jack russsell things run up to my dog and just harrass the hell out of it, I've had farm collies attack as we've walked down the public lane past the farm and it goes on and on. And that's before we get on to those poor people whose dogs have been attacked and seriously injured by uncontrolled dogs. it's not rocket science, if your dog is not in your control keep it on the f*ckin lead. Why should innocent people be subject to what amount to actual bodily harm just for walking their dog on a lead, or minding their own buisness cycling or jogging. End of!

In the spirit of 'oh go on then...' - seeing as i remember this particular 'chain' of discourse, and yet in the full knowledge that it is but sound & fury, signifying nothing - let's examine that claim...
.

I also remember that discussion where @kyoto49 was complaining about a driver doing 30 in a 60...... at night.

What I find really really hypocritical of @kyoto49 though is this.....
She hates car drivers with a vengeance (except of course when she herself chooses to drive), then it's all "I can't bear people driving slowly"

For me, if I can't see round a corner then I'll go slow...there might be a cyclist just round the bend and a car coming in the opposite direction.

As she is a cyclist herself...how would she feel if she was cycling along and an idiot driver doing 60 came round a bend and didn't see her?

Sorry..... it's the room 101 thread

@kyoto49

Oh don't flatter yourself that I'm infatuated with you....why would I be?
Far from it...I despise your attitude.

You are the most irritating, self opinionated, self righteous, hypocrital person on the forum.
You seem to have an over inflated opinion of yourself.....in every aspect.

You have an opinion on everything, you think that your opinion is right and everyone else is wrong. Anyone that doesn't agree with your version of right gets a vicious tongue lashing.

You use bad language, you swear, and you are rude.

You slag off Stafford right left and centre...why not move then and do us all a favour?

And anyway....I thought that you were ignoring me.

If a dog jumps up at me, even if an owner says - just being friendly, it gets my boot before i have chance to find out

Dogs learn quickly that way

The owner then understands who is in charge

And it's not the owner or the dog
