sorry for derailing the thread, but to get back on track, any one remember the brylcream machine in the old baths? sadly missed, along with my hair.

On reflection that's a pathetic attempt to get back on track but it appears that our family are in the majority here so you hav to obey the ze master race, today Stafford tomorrow the world.:slayer:

Sadly missed....Castletown post office and shop when it was run by Brian George. I used to love going in there to spend my pocket money on penny bears and cola bottles.

Do any of you remember the old betting shop in Castle St and the old cobblers on the corner of Castle St and Railway St? Oh and Hall and Lloyds Auction house in South St, Think i managed to kit out most of my house with stuff bought from there.

Sadly missed - the Lunar Scorpion - rumour has it that she's eloped with basil - look at the evidence, no post from either of them for the last few days.

I am just concerned that they might start to produce progeny - just imagine it - - - - or perhaps not.

Someone needs to take on the Devil's Advocate mantle.

don't mention the blinds
anyone remember the 'little old lady' (that's how we described her as juniors in the late 60s) she was the librarian in the borough library she looked after the childrens section on the 1st floor she always gave us a resounding 'THANK YOU' when serving us in fact to a number of us under 10s she became known as Mrs Thank You..... the library building itself i am reliably informed was built using a substantial contribution from a certain Mr Carnegie i often lie awake at night pondering why this wealthy gent became involved in such a project... attached to the library was/is a museum as kid it was quite boring as it seemed as if the exhibits never changed...outside next to the odeon was a pet shop probably called 'pets corner' as i boy i felt sure that the animals therin did not know this but if they did they would feel a lot better for it.....if this seems like a banal wittering ramble you maybe right it's just that sometimes my mind goes a bit.....anyone remember the bailey bridge?......
