I painted the old bird hide once, in the last century - there was well-executed piece of graffiti in the middle of the end wall, so I painted a 'frame' around it and left it, to much approbation, but there was no new graffiti for some months afterwards.
Some people might like to think that England is "long shadows on county grounds, warm beer, invincible green suburbs, dog lovers and pools fillers and – as George Orwell said – 'old maids bicycling to holy communion through the morning mist'", but petty, half-arsed self destructiveness is becoming much more the norm.
